    Thank you National Quilters Circle for the instructions clearly shown for changing my Rotary Blade Cutter. I had not sewn in over 6 months and had a heck of a time trying to change the blade. Your site made it so simple - again, thank you!!!

    so glad I found you. So grateful you posted something you might consider too simple to have to explain, but you did it anyway!! I changed my blade a few days ago. while cutting, it just didnt seem right. so doubting I would actually find a tutorial on this I googled anyway. And there you were!! Thank you for realizing that are some of us who need extra help.

    Thank you so much for this. Very clear instructions. I was particularly flummoxed by the bent washer, so I appreciate you explaining that especially.

    Thank you for this! I make the mistake of getting things turned around and couldn't find my way back! But with your tutorial (and I did watch Olfa's too!) I was able to get it put back together again!

    I was instructed to put the blade on the right hand side of the cutter if I was right handed, and left hand side of the cutter if I was left handed ... this goes completely opposite of what you were explaining about the blade needing to be up against the ruler, so THANK YOU for that excellent piece of advise!

    Thank you for this video! I change my blades all the time and for some reason, this time, there was a wobble in it. The nut works on either side and the way I had it did't make it snug. Sometimes, you just need a visual aid. Great idea about marking the blade side too

    MANY THANKS for showing this SO WELL, step by step. Keeping every component in the exact position as you disassemble it sure helps!! I have a rotary cutter just like what you used, but mine does not have the YELLOW plastic washer. I'm wondering if you think that is a manufacturer DEFECT, or if it is actually made to not have one... I wa-wa-wa-wa-wonder?? :) Thanks again and stay safe during this most difficult time in our beautiful world!

    I just watched your video on changing my rotary blade and I had to go and get a pair of pliers out of my husband's toolbox because the nut was so tight that I couldn't unscrew the thing. I guess I really wanted to make sure it wouldn't come off. Thanks for all the info.

    The only time you place the spacer on the blade side is if you are using a decorative blade. The spacer keeps the decorative blade from rubbing up against the cutter.

      Which spacer are you talking about the yellow plastic one or the metal curved one?

    help! i just changed the blade in my new fiskar with a kisswell wave blade and i put it back together and it pops in and out like it is supposed to but it won't cut. mine doesn't have that little floating washer...the nut and washer are together. it moves if i turn the blade by hand but when i put it on fabric it won't work! any help would be appreciated...oh... and i just changed it back to the original blade and it works. do you suppose these kisswell blades don't go with my 45mm fiskar? thank you so much!!

      Hi,
      Unfortunately I am not familiar with those other types of blades, so I can't say for sure, however, if the cutter works with the original blades and you only have an issues with these- it might be safe to say that it does not work with that cutter.
      Cheers,

    The spacer doesn’t go on the blade side.

  • @spazure
    @spazure 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ok but how do you pick up the new blade without cutting yourself because it’s so thin and hard to get a grip on

  • @AnnaCurser
    @AnnaCurser ปีที่แล้ว

    i think its important to note that the screw and the blade go together. otherwise your blade will be wonky.

    I don't have the yellow washer in mine?

  • @marilynarzie7264

    This insertion is wrong. She put plastic nut on wrong side.

    • @gregoryg.6737
      @gregoryg.6737 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agreed. She put the yellow plastic spacer on the wrong side. The order of assembly is wrong.

  • @Bynggo
    @Bynggo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    My blade fell off after a few uses and when I tried to reassemble it just didn’t want to cooperate. Mine didn’t have to yellow spacer, I have looked everywhere in the work space but I couldn’t find it. So that’s a mystery. Has any one else had that part missing?

  • @cathyrivas6496
    @cathyrivas6496 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    She has the yellow spacer on the wrong side unless you are using a special decorative blade.. It's supposed to be under the washer and nut not under the blade.

  • @rosemarymorris9379
    @rosemarymorris9379 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I believe this is incorrect. The yellow plastic disc does NOT go between the blade and the cutter. You will break blades if you do it this way. The yellow disc goes on the other side of the cutter.

    You don’t need a new blade. I’m able to sharpened my. It’s the same with the scissors. You don’t discard good scissors you sharpened them.
