i did a bit of jockin' back in 69/70 and a couple of tracks that went down exceptionally well were willie mitchel's "that driving beat" and " everything is gonna be alright" they were two sure fire floor fillers , 30 60 90 and soul serenade were great tunes too but those first two were real stompin' dance tracks ! i've mentioned willie mitchell because he makes an apprearance on this post and he was very popular on the club circuit back then , alvin cash had " funky 69 and " keep on dancing" around that time too ! i had them both on an import label called " toddlin town" he'd had some success years earlier with " twine time" and then "philly freeze" which were both released here in the UK i think twine was on stateside and philly freeze was on a new label called "president" i see "tiles made an appearance here , that took over at the end of the real RnB clubs reign the scene hung on a little longer than the discotheque and the "chance" flamingo stayed popular for a few more years , so too did the roaring twenties in carnaby st but the mods good time "nighters" were gone oh well ? all good things ......... howya doin dimples ? it's been a while ?

@@Sheven718 so, when you'd say The Chance closed? It had to be 1966. I've seen it still appeared on some Rave magazine adverts. So The Chance closed in the first mid of 1966, right? Not later on went off La Disc ad The Scene. All closed down in1966 if I'm not wrong but you sure can tell me. Nice to read you always Sheven.
@@onthecooler_Dimples yes ! the chance must have gone early 66 la disc went about that time too (if my memory serves me well)? later it was the scene that carried on for quite a while but it was nothing like it had been in its heyday ! sad to say , the last time i went to the scene i arrived in a cab in the we small hours , got out and went walking across ham yard towards the entrance when a girl called my name ? i turned and it was a girl i had been seeing alot of the previous year named christine we went to the chance most saturdays in 65 she came from stratford in the east-end long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes a good looker !!! anyway i never went into the scene that night we spent the rest of the weekend back at her place , the next time i went to the scene it was closed and gone forever ! the flamingo went on til 69 so too did the twenties but they weren't like the scene or the chance and la disc that era was over but it was just so good while it lasted , lets not forget the freight train , la macabre, the coffee-ann, the alphabet, the availability of blues and the pumping out of RnB music in them all oh ! for one more saturday night 64/65 and betty everitte "getting mighty crowded" how sweet it is !
