I’ll be transferring this year but I can’t find any information on how the housing it all. And I don’t have a clue on what I’m supposed to bring. I’m gonna be transferring and I’ll be a junior and this will be my first time leaving home. You have any advice for moving and locating a good place to live so it’s close to my classes. I am a bio major btw. Great vid
Thanks for this. I got a partial scholarship to UMASS for ME and I’m hoping to transfer into the honors college. Did you get straight into the honors college as a freshman or did you transfer in? If you did transfer in, how was that process?
Congrats bro. And I do, it’s a huge college so there’s a big social scene there and there’s pretty much a circle for all types of people. Lmk if you have any more questions 🤝
Before 1986, when the drinking age was 18, it was a party school. I'd say it no longer is a "party" school. The whole vibe of UMASS has changed. I'd say for the better from an academic standpoint. Put another way... When I first started going to UMASS, that first night, I collected $10.00 in cans just from the halls and returned them. My senior year... No cans anywhere... The school is now ranked near the top of all public Universities. Freedom of speech was given far more ethical importance back then. People were more thick skinned, silly, and verbal comic than they are now. There use to be a student union run comedy show in the "Hatch" in the center of the campus center. This was next to the arcade, which was always packed. I'm not sure if the Hatch even still exists and is just a big storage area now. There is no more arcade. There were floor chairs to sleep in, as well. Hippie culture was still quite present. Now... Any little ideological "questioning" at this so called "liberal" school can get you kicked out and or cancelled... I do believe there is NO place to easily sleep in the campus center. The cafeterias have improved, but are different. You can thank Michelle O. and her libtard "fight" childhood obesity (AKA childhood starvation) initiative. They use to serve soda there and you could make your own sandwiches. I do miss the school and my youth very much. I'm not a very charismatic man and my disposition is quite dry and austere. But, even I had some good friends there, once... Thankfully, walking around the school during all seasons is still beautiful. For a summer job I helped replaced all the lights and the bad receptacles in Southwest South. During the rest of my stay their, sometimes I'd look up at those tall buildings, and I'd say to myself "I helped replace all of those lights." Just me and Max the electrician. He was 50 to 60 at the time, probably no longer here... I do believe, in the basement of the campus center, there is still a picture of a UMASS football game. There is a noticeable raven haired beauty in the picture. She was real and I knew her. I believe the guy in the sunglasses was actually the artist... There is also a picture of a John Butcher Access concert around there as well. It was a wonderful time to be just be young and alive.

I actually got accepted from HS but I've had some friends transfer in after the first semester freshman year so it's definitely doable.
