More than any other, single human, Clive James got me hooked on Formula One back in the 1980's.
    R.I.P..

I've only just discovered this for the first time. Excellent entertainment. Hat's off to Clive to achieve so much in a short time, with the help of a succession of excellent trainers. Passing the driving test in a week was no mean achievement either. Sobering to watch late greats and legends, like Moss, Senna, Hunt and my hero Barry Sheene, who were so prominent in my youth .

I was born in 1977. Clive James TV show about the news (on BBC or HTV I think) was one of my favorite shoes. Between him and Fry and Laurie, my sense of humor was formed. I always found Clive James voice very soothing. Excellent video.

When Clive got stressed, his accent goes straight back to one I haven't hear in years. He sounds like the old synthetic Cricket broadcasts from the ABC from before the undersea cables went in. When I was a kid, everyone spoke like that in 1972.
Oh, an' Steerlink Mouse..put on a shirt. Judi Greene is already off on a square rigger with Alby Mangels making world Safari films.
