i believe you because it happened to me once. i was fishing at dusk in the nyc area saw 2 white lights hovering over the ocean. thought it was a helicopter. hovered for about 10 mins then shot across the horizon in 4 sec and was gone. i was there with a friend both looked at each and said you know what that was right. true story
Wow that is an intense story. Should report that to MUFON. Wait until you see the Elon Musk Starlink satellites. I couldn't hardly believe it, was like an alien armada.
Seen some wacky stuff out in the night sky. It gets creepy out there in the dark! A few years ago I was under the Beavertail lighthouse when that satellite or whatever it was re-entered the atmosphere. The whole sky light up like 4th of July. Scared the crap outta me.
