nearly every complication I've had on the road, I came here to search for a solution. I've taken on many of your vehicle saftey procedures. thank you for making these videos. hoping you can make a mini Cooper door glass video. and maybe also a newer model dodge charger rear door glass video.
So, how do you do freight liners alone? The company I work for forced me to do it alone. I almost quit, my dispatch told me to TH-cam how to do it alone. Told me I couldn’t get any help and reschedule is not an option. My managers are cool but they don’t work Saturdays. My dispatch is the reason I almost quit
william arnold I really don’t do them by my self the glass is to heavy and it gets contaminated when maneuvering to set the glass. I done it by my self once by getting the glass really close to the pins on the bottom than lift the glass and set but it’s even more difficult when they gave a visor. But it’s really not worth doing it by yourself.
Alfredo, your videos have help tremendously. Could you tell me or do a video on how you sharpen your cold knife blades and your btb tool? Thank you for taking the time to do these videos for all of us to learn.
CatandChris Bailey just uploaded a video on how to sharpen the BTB blades. I took a while do to the fact that I wanted to explore and find the best method. Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos.
Hey Alfredo, Rocky here with Alice Auto Glass in Alice Texas , you have some great videos , love your work ethics, need your help, I just purchased the 18 volt multi tool and blades from equalizer but not sure what adapter or washer your using to hold blade down, do I need to do any modifications, thank you Alice Auto Glass
Have you ever used a m12 urethane gun ? I have a 18v one but I would lie to get a 12v as a spare. Also , do you do the recalibration on lane departure vehicles? Thanks in advance.
Anthony Tiedt I haven’t owned a 12v my self, so I really don’t know how good it works. Yes we have a recalibration system and we do recalibrate. Highly recommend it.
Hey Alfredo - I got a shop do my F80 M3 recently which is a 2018 and the same body of this car.. how do you avoid seeing the urethane from inside the car? this wasn't like that during factory. They'll come out and do it again but, when the sun shines i can clearly see the urethane coming through the a pillars which isn't a OEM thing. Should they use OEM BMW Adhesive?
No they either ran to large of a bead or ran it to close to the interior a pillars most aftermarket adhesives meet or exceed manufacturers recommendations anyways
Regular scott blue painters tape, but only for 2 -3 hrs since I use fast cure urethane and it cures really fast. I personally don’t recommend leaving it over night.
What tool did you use to cut the glue/bottom of the glass? It looks like a Sawzall. And what adaptor did you use to attach it? What was the plastic board you put on top on the dashboard? What is that tool you use to cut the extra glue off? after the glass was removed? Also I notice there was a second tape that was attached to the new glass, I seen the first tape, which is to align the glass to the body, what was the second tape for? Can you send me the link on the cordless tools and blades you use please. This help me replace windshield on bmw. Thank you
JAE MARPLE I would recommend you to used a wire of fiber line cut out tool for removal of the glass I use the BTB scraper to remove the left over urethane.
@@AlfredosAutoGlassRepairCorona At my working place, which is bmw dealership, we use a wire fiber line cut out tool to cut the glue off the windshield. after seeing you used the milwaukee oscillating with the blade attachment to it, this would make me faster on removing the windshield. What blades are you using, that is attach on the milwaukee oscillating?
JAE MARPLE part numbers for blades are 51848 and 51849 from Equalizer if you are using fiber line or wire keep doing that is much better for you and for the car. Faster is not always the best
Mr. Gong先生 There’s many reasons why vehicles have moldings some of them are just cosmetically, some have a rain channel, some help with the vehicle aerodynamics. If Vehicle is equipped with moldings we reinstall moldings back.
Obviously you can scratch the paintwork with power tools away from the glass but can the vibrating hook style blade scratch the paint work underneath the glass/urethane and is it an advantage doing the removal in hot weather to soften up the urethane or is that stuff completely hard no matter what the weather is? When i saw your other video removing with a power line i wondered why you didn't do that for all vehicles. What's are the pros and cons of both techniques. I'm guessing here but would using the power line increase the chances of the glass shattering under extreme pressure, and paint work scratches from using power tools? Thanks.
Hi im the installer too..but i dont have any tools like you use to remove the winshield..you know i use blade cutter to removed the winshield..thats so hard to removed..i wish i can buy like your tools..
Alfredo's Auto Glass Repair Corona I have been working with safelite auto glass for 4 years and some of the things you would say reminded me of safelite and belron. I had a feeling you worked with an affiliate of belron. I'm glad you were able to start your own business
Adham Aladhami definitely better to apply glue on glass when the pinch weld on vehicles is flat and smooth. As long as you apply the glue right where it goes otherwise you could really mess up. I decide my self base on the what kind of car it is. Thank you for watching my videos
Its sunny outside and the BMWadhesive is really soft, why not use a regular cold knife? That feinsetup looks scary, all that vibrating is going to get back at your hands and underarms if you do it enough.
evan castillo on vehicles that the urethane is applied to the very edge to the glass all the way around its better to apply to the glass also the pinch weld have to be straight as well. But I do prefer to apply urethane to the body on vehicles that I could possibly miss where the urethane goes. Specially in Japanese cars where the urethane goes uneven on the bottom.
