Central government has decided to give an impetus to dragon fruit cultivation. The decision came in the aftermath of the steps taken by Gujarat and Haryana state governments. In the both the states, farmers interested in cultivating dragon fruits are being given financial assistance.
The Centre is pushing this fruit because of its high nutritional value, profit making capacity and cost effectiveness.

This is another 'aloe vera' like scandal.
The promoters are just interested in selling their seed material. Fruit bearing starts at 5 years, hence they have 5 years to sell the seed material before the news of harvest failure spreads.
When all the farmers will grow dragon fruit, the prices will crash to Rs 60-70. That will be below the break even.
For the government, it's a good way to present as a new idea 'to double the farm income' , as wise as the 'zero budget natural farming' Sri Lanka crises has roots in their mindless natural farming policies.
Take my word again, this is a scam like safed musli and aloe vera scams 10-15 years ago.

@@awesomemanu2601 many fly-by-night operators are there in the field. They will offer to set up the farm without consideration of agro-climatic conditions and the suitability of soil for the crops. The results will be known only after 4-5 years when either the flowers will not set , or the flowers will start dropping, the fruit will not be upto the mark, of the yield will be below the break even point.
By then, the seed suppliers are long gone or changed business.
This has happened in the past with aloe vera , safed musli, stevia and jatropha plantations.
Plz be prudent when u take up new crops. Their success in Korea doesn't ensure success in Rajasthan. Consult your Agri University or state Horticulture experts, start on a small pilot plot first, then expand.

No Indian veggie or fruit would help one recover faster from Dengue than eating Dragon fruits. The doctors recommends eating Dragon fruits to get the lost counts quicker (naturally). If in case one can't find DF, then Kiwi is suggested. But first'choice ofcourse is DF especially the red ones.

Bhai..... western countries ki most of research biased and paid hote hain😒
There was a time when cigarette companies paid thousands of research showing cigarette is good for health. This research was bursted many years ago by few independent researchers.
Similarly, they pay fake researchs showing all Asian/African fruits & vegetables as unhealthy. And promote western fruits & vegetables.
Tell me how is it that all western grown fruits & vegetables like Pistachio, Almond, Cashewnut, Apple, Strawberry, dragonfruit, avacado, etc etc.
Aisa kese ho sakta hai ki saare ke saare European/American grown things healthy ho ?😅ye coincidence to nahi hai.
They never showed Banana, coconut, jackfruits, bittergourd (karela) as healthy. But in reality, they are superhealthy. Don't fall in western superfood trap😒
Reality is that americans are actually the most unhealthy & obese people in the world.

Also the reporter did not acknowledged the high cost of setting up a dragon fruit farm, neither does care the govt ofcourse...but the truth of the matter is that one needs a minimum of 6 lacs for 1 acre setup and obviously very good seed (variety) of plant, 3rd year onwards harvesting would start..so basically this farming is beyond the reach of majority of farmers who are pretty poor.

Bhai..... western countries ki most of research biased and paid hote hain😒
Always remember their old research also said cigarettes are healthy, but are they ?

If govt do not give subsidy no body will go after it. Lallantop should do more research on it before giving their reviews. It takes around 5 to 7 years to bear fruit. If govt change subsidy may go. Taste is also not good. If it is so good why big hospitals are not considering in their fruit menu.

It costs a lot in starting....but it is really good....this could diversify agriculture.
we have planted at our Farmhouse, and increasing every year and we are going great
it tastes different but tastes wonderful....I thinks that it is good in taste because its ours..
I will recommend you to watch demands worldwide 🌐...
Several doctors those I meet have also recommend this to me at Max Delhi, GTB Delhi and so on.
And I also recommend you to give it a try apart from govt., if possible.
Govts. will come and go but we have to think for ourselves.

@@anshumaansahil brother our farmland papaya goes directly to hospitals but the hospitals do not take dragon fruit. The nutritionist do not write in menu chart so the purchase section is helpless/ or management financial pressure. Again selling to whole seller means you have to take it to Kolkata market. That is also a big headache. Local people does not have buying capacity. So its not so easy. To be true we are not atall depended on farming. I think you are aware that how the whole sellers squiz the farmers. That is why I am telling if the big hospitals start in their menu it will spread automatically
