    I have the same model and like the WiFi feature. You control your refrigerator/freezer from your smart phone, increase your lower ice makers production too. It also notifies you when it is time to change both the air and water filters.

    I’m having this refrigerator delivered next week. We have bad water where we live so we won’t have the ice maker hooked up. We’ll add bought ice to the ice maker bin and fill our glasses that way. Another reason to not hook up the water is because most issues start with the waterline leaking or the ice maker over icing and leaking. Hope I have no problems. Bought the extended warranty just in case.

      After over a year, it's been excellent. Changed the filter for the water once, it was $45 from lg website. Other than that, no maintenance, no worries. Just an excellent refrigerator that's 100x better than a Bosch that cost 3x more expensive. Honestly, I don't have anything bad to say except for something super weird.. when the power goes out due to an outage and turns back on, the water supply leaks a little. It's weird even though it's a little big of water.

      @@TheStrivering I bought the same exact lg today and await delivery on Friday, crossing my fingers! I’ll have to admit I’m a bit nervous as there are dings with pretty much every refrigerator manufacturer. The design is practical and ticked most of my boxes, I’d rather have 2x freezer drawers model but that model is a tad too big for my space. The 10 year warranty thanks the class action lawsuit and NY Times saying most people seem to be happiest with LG solidified my decision. Even in your example, expensive brands like Bosch don’t fare much better.
      Thanks for the update!

    You weren't concerned about compressor issues? LG now has an arbitration legal notice in their fridges they sell.

    • @TheStrivering
      @TheStrivering  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had a Bosch refrigerator before this one, that one was probably 3 times more expensive and broke within in a few months. Bosch showed the worst customer service and wouldnt take the fridge back. Instead they would schedule a repair company to come to fix the fridge. For over a year they would schedule the repair, 2 weeks later they come to diagnose and leave to order the part. 4 weeks later it comes. 2 weeks later they come. after rebuilding the fridge in my kitchen, 1 part at a time, it was finally deemed unrepairable and they paid me back for the fridge. After that experience i figured i can buy a new LG every month and it will last me longer than a Bosch and save me money. lol
      but no, the LG is awesome. its coming up on two years old and no problems. I wanted to sue Bosch but then saw how much lawsuits they have open and their tactic of prolonging court till the customer just drops it, and decided that wasn't the right way to go. Luckily I was still in my warranty and beat them down till they took the fridge back.

    • @alexanderjamieson7971
      @alexanderjamieson7971 ปีที่แล้ว

      @TheStrivering all of the current freestanding bottom freezer fridges are plagued with problems. LGs have compressor issues, Fridgidaire and Samsung have evaporator issues, GE has electronics issuses, Bosh has all the problems you described, whirlpool (kithen aid) electronics and evaporators.
      I am considering Sub Zero only because they make their parts in the U.S. in Wisconsin and Arizona and are opening a new factory in Iowa. Would rather pay out the butt for something that will last 20 years and have parts readily available. Bosch is ruing their good name with their refigerators

    • @TheStrivering
      @TheStrivering  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexanderjamieson7971 Sub-Zero was my first option but the price settled me down a bit. I should of went with them. I haven't heard anything bad about them and all the technicians that came to my house said they have Sub-Zero and wolf appliances.

    Great review! I am interesting in this fridge, can I ask how easy to connect the water line to water/ice dispenser? Just "unscrew" the pipe from the old fridge and connect it to the new fridge? I know Costco will not do this part when they deliver. Any insight will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    • @TheStrivering
      @TheStrivering  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had my water line unplugged from the old fridge when Costco came. They delivered the new fridge, brought it in, unpacked it, and connected the water line before putting it into place. When I bought my dishwasher from Costco, they delivered it but since the dishwasher didn't come with an outlet cord, they offered to have an electrician come the next day to install it. most likely they will connect it for you, but if they don't, it is a simple twist on and off pipe line.

    • @TheStrivering
      @TheStrivering  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With ice, there's no problem. Just the usual. Ice first then liquid. With water, it has high pressure. Which is good but take time to get used to. For example tilt the short cup when pouring water so it curls in instead of shooting up. Also if there is like half a cup of water and your adding water, the stream will splash against the water and come out. But under normal circumstances, it doesn't spray weird or anything.

      That is a great comparison. is the price difference a lot between home Depot and Costco?
      I bought electronics from Costco and ended up not using them. 9 months later I call them and go like hey, it's been 9 months but it's just standing collecting dust. I just dont like it. They said bring it back, say so and so approved it. Honestly I would pay more with Costco and go with them because of their respect towards customers. Plus they give the 2% back for exclusive membership which is very well worth it for me.
      48hr really isn't much to find out if there's problem or instability with temperatures.

      Was yours installed and delievered by costco? Did they leave and come back or install right after bringing it?

      @@TechVHD I believe I got it in 2020. Costco delivered and brought it into my home. I didn't have them unpack it cause my kid wanted to play with the box. As for installation it was a wire to plug into the wall and the water line that was a push in plug in type of deal.
      Once it was in my home, I took the cardboard off and just pushed it into place. It comes in wheels so that was super easy.

Things do break down, but they’re easy/cheap to fix and the compressor is solid. Only problem is that GE just sold to Hisense, a Chinese company.
