Great review of the Hiya toys 1/18th scale Robocop action figure. The details, color and articulation is top notch and I like how the light reflects off the paint and the 15+ on the packaging box is great for collectors. Great video Michael, your stuff are always so awesome.

Awesome to know how well the Hiya Robocop scales with the Toy Island OCP Interceptor (1994).
I have one as well, bought back in the day and always treasured. Some parts broke off but glued back on. I opened it up way back when and added a switch to have either "just the light on" or the standard "lights and sirens on". The sirens are definitely loud yes! 😆

I've got the Toy Island Robocop 3 figure with the jet pack. Awesome figure for it's time. I never could find the car though. I never saw it at retail even when it was first supposed to be released.
Brilliant figure for the scale. Great details. My NECA Robocop also broke very easily. I have the Mafex 6inch scale Robocop, too big for a car unfortunately but looks awesome next to the NECA ED-209. Excellent review. I'm definitely thinking about picking up this version now 👀

Even as a kid I remember not liking the inaccurate Kenner details but also that "This is it or nothing." bitd lol. They did make a good ED-209 though in hindsight that I wish I had. Still have my helmet but lost the gun. ;)
In retrospect I wish I could have gotten hold of Toy Island's figures since they did a pretty good job with Robo long before these better options.
That is true about packaging photos, recognized a lot of Robocop3 and The Series images despite not watching those much heh. I think I'll look into that one, love to get some new figures that don't break the bank.

It's I very cool figure for it's size also the details are good enough to be enjoyable and not needing a entire rework.

Great review! It amazes me how screen accurate they were able to make the paint on these…especially when higher scale companies like Hot Toys dropped the ball in that department. Love these little Hiya figures and now I really miss my Kenner Robo collection. Lol. Had to make a few sacrifices to afford a screen used Auto-9😉

@@MichaelMercy I’d say 90% of my gun was screen used. Some of the components of the gun in its original form are illegal for civilian ownership and also extraordinarily expensive. Beretta 93r’s (without the Robo add-ons) go for around $40K😬. Two firing Auto-9s were used on the first movie. I have *most of* one of them. But it’s a complete gun.
Just got the robocop 3 hiya toys figure from Amazon this morning, can't wait to see if it's as good as this one here

It's good that Dr. Peter Weller agreed to let his likeness be used for this. Also, that is the proper form of address since Peter Weller got his PhD a few years ago.
Also, in case anyone is curious... his PhD is in Art History with a focus on the Italian Renaissance. If this inspires anyone to stage a photo of Robocop meeting Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo I would 100% support that.
I don't know about this one, but the battle damaged version definitely has ankle pivot. I love mine.
Great video. I had, what seems like in memory now, the 20" figure from the early 90's with the LCD display for the mouth. It must've been based off Robocop 3 because it came with the machine gun arm attachment with a removable magazine clip which was pretty cool. I don't know if you guys had that all the way over in Canada? My dad got me it on O'connell Street in Dublin while I was visiting my nanna. I still have it to.

very cool review . interesting to see the Canadian release of the robocop interceptor (think that what they called it ) has lights and sounds they where omitted from the European editions only the Hummers and the Swat van has them as I used them in my review for the robocop 3 hiya figure.(had to get that cool jet pack ) also on a side note there was a sorta seat thing released by toy island for the movie tie in figures which that hiya one can fit too (not well but looks ok) I do wish they might do a Ann Lewis figure but dunno if they can get the likeness rights. would still like to see them do the Tv show version and that made for tv roboCable as they would be pretty easy repaints

Not sure about this figure but there are usually ways to remove a bubble without damaging the packaging. You can find videos on TH-cam

That's the ford mustang from the robocop TV series. In the movie they used the ford Taurus. I have all 3 mini Robocop with no damage. I have to get the 2014 and battle damage ones. ED 209 is on his way. I just hope they make a Cain figure from robocop 2.

The Kenner one doesn't go too well with this one since it's 5 POA. Hopefully Hiya does one of her. I'd love Sgt. Reed and Clarence Boddicker figures too.
Funny that Ford didn't give out lisence to toy companies to make toy versions of the Tarus.
iirc, Ford licensed the Taurus to the usual assortment of manufacturers of scaled toy cars... back when the Robocop version was on screen.
There still making RoboCop toys?
Yes. The license has been used by a few manufactures in recent years. Michael mentions that Hot Toys signed Dr. Peter Weller to a contract for his likeness for a figure, near the beginning. There is also at least one Robocop by Mafex, fairly recently... among some others. This one is still fantastic, considering the scale.
The HAYA TOYS Robocop suck, they are way to short/Small and there joints are really bad. It's a little sad to see, cause the paintjob is awesome.
