I had the honor to attend the Drill Competition held in Daytona this past year. The Kings Guard made another presence there and did a great performance. Also speaking in their native tongue when they shouted their commands. Was a great performance and also unforgettable.
i like their routine now better. but they seemed to really have some humor with the star wars hum and row row your boat song at the end. lol, i love kings guard, everything is so precise.
I hate to contradict you Matt, but Breon331 is right about the Darth Vader theme. It's in the beginning at 1:27-1:43. You're right too, except the row your boat song is at the end.
But if your referring to the name "King's Guard" being copied, it's just a coincidence. The name "King's Guard", in the context of Hawaiian history, comes from the royal guards that were chosen by King Kalakaua as bodyguards.
cabrillo was supposed to be 1st place over all for all city this year and lakewood was supposed to be 2nd place. the only reason why it wasn't like this was because the points for PT weren't counted for the overall points. Lakewood was right behind poly in the exhibition and cabrillo was right under poly in the regulation. However, Lakewood and Cabrillo made it 1stt and 2nd place PT overall. If those points were included the outcome woult have been different.
heh...ive seen blackwatch this year though..i wouldnt be talking..especially for that poor john jay performance. that team we had last year was only together and tought for about 2 months. that says alot. and for your info, we got reg & inspection in the top 10. shove it ho. were already years ahead of where we were last year
Sorry mate. I've seen both. Hawaiian King's Guard and the Norwegian drill team have very very different styles. Don't get me wrong, both teams are amazing at what they do, it's just the style and tradition of drill is very different. The Hawaiian King's Guard, for example, see drill as a tradition and treat it almost like a religion and the way the conduct exhibition is has the so called "Hawaiian Flair" to it.
i meant instead of last year"that year" lol you confused me for a second. that year we were natnl champions. were reclaiming it this year tho..screw blueguard and patriot guard..they can have sloppy seconds of the natnl trophies..lol
