One regret .... not flying to the U.S to watch the Queen of Soul🙏🏽. I'll definitely go to London to see this great lady who completely embodies Aretha❤
I just came across this by listening to different renditions of "Ain't No Way" and, oh my, did i feel this rendition way deep inside. The orchestra was excellent and the vocals went deep inside of me.
This sounds AMAZING, wow to the singer, and to all involved in the orchestra....mmmmm yes, yes, I simply loved the lush orchestra arrangement , and that stunning voice Vanessa. SO close to Aretha’s tone and phrasing.....congratulations xx
Sez Cardis yes..everyone tries to hard and end up oversinging it and Aretha actually was very smooth even in the power high notes...it's been years and finally someone finally gave me close to the chills and emotions I first heard it when I was 20 years old - and now I'm 71yrs!! I will give credit to Sisaundra Lewis that I saw on one of those shows and over there --------> is a video of her auditioning for one of those singing shows. : )
Mary Salvi , yes indeed knowing it deeply but no oversinging it is key. This song is about ... letting go of hope ... of the dream of a deeply fulfilling reciprocal love...the self realisation she is not getting the love back ..... ain't no way......she is unburdening herself in facing the truth (rather than projections and her dreams of this ultimately unsatisfying relationship). Jennifer Hudson recently sung this so well until it was unfortunately ruined by someone in the room pulling his pants down , being an attention seeking lad.... and he destroying her song as she couldn't keep on. Ugh A very hard song to sing in the original key. A lower key is best for anyone who is not a soprano .
There have been many powerhouse singers perform Aint No Way to the highest standard, but Arethas original recording can never be matched, how could it be, no other singer has ever come anywhere near Arethas prime 1968 recorded voice.., and with Cissy and the Sweets on background for those legendary recordings, that's the benchmark right there. Aint No Way it can ever be rivaled or surpassed.
So far she has the next best Cover of this song, she didn't try to out do Aretha nor did she try to make it her....she followed the blueprint to the best of her ability and that what makes this the best 1 so far beside the Big Girl from Glee & Jennifer Hudson version and Cynthia Igvo are thee best today so far!!!
This was a wonderful performance by everyone involved so props to them, but I was really waiting for that iconic background vocal. But the string instrument gave it a new vibe so that's nice
woooo this randomly started playing after some other video i was watch as i was about to walk out the door.... stopped me in my tracks ....had to come see who this was....you betta sing chile yesss maam
I LOVE MS. FRANKLIN VERSION OF THIS SONG NEVER THOUGHT ANYONE COULD COME CLOSE BUT MS. VANESSA HUDGENS SHE'S ONE OF THE SINGER FROM THE BAND INCOGNITO WHO I ENJOY ALSO MS HUDGENS I LIKE YOUR VERSION ALSO STRONG VOCAL GOOD WORK .
Wow, Vanessa. Don't stop Believing, ever. This Gurl can Sing a Song. Warm yur hearts for Real:-) And let US Never forget IT, the Beautiful Soulful Gift(s) Aretha gave us All. No attributes need be appended.
BEAUTIFUL!!, BEAUTIFUL!! BUT I WAS WAITING TO HEAR THE " SOPRANO VOCALIST", IN THE BACKGROUND, THAT MADE THIS SONG SOOOO HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL BEHIND ARETHA'S VOICE?????
Yes she was incredible! She founded the " Sweet Inspiration" vocal group as well. They sang back up for Elvis and numerous performers. Whitney was well trained. She was born in music royalty. She was a member of the Drinkard Four with her brothers and sisters.
its just NOT an easy tune to sing. And I think Aretha's original, is mythologized so much, because of the laid back way she approaches all the upper register-stuff. She doesn't prepare herself for those notes...she just slides into them, like she's puttin' on her house shoes, every morning. No big deal..after all, its Aretha, not Annette Funicello.
Ms Aretha Franklin would be so proud of you covering her song ❤❤❤
That orchestra slayed! Man, it sounded like an improved instrumental of the original recording.
The orchestra was just simply everything and she was beyond amazing what a phenomenal voice I loved it.
Man this world sleeping on alot of vocally blessed ppl

Cynthia Erivo is as good, if not better 😍
Pull up the original singer of this song her Name is Jean Carne, and listen to her vocals it's very good.

So interesting, parts of of voice reminds me of Carolyn (who wrote this song) & the slight rasp reminds me of Erma / that’s a fine soul singer ❤️

Both Patti and Aretha had amazing back up singers for this song that’s what them both hit different
I LOVE MS. FRANKLIN VERSION OF THIS SONG NEVER THOUGHT ANYONE COULD COME CLOSE BUT MS. VANESSA HUDGENS SHE'S ONE OF THE SINGER FROM THE BAND INCOGNITO WHO I ENJOY ALSO MS HUDGENS I LIKE YOUR VERSION ALSO STRONG VOCAL GOOD WORK .

pc amin me too. The part Cissy Houston sang, wasi n the original Aretha’s version.
OH WOW, I didn't know that was Cissy.
Yes she was incredible! She founded the " Sweet Inspiration" vocal group as well. They sang back up for Elvis and numerous performers. Whitney was well trained. She was born in music royalty. She was a member of the Drinkard Four with her brothers and sisters.

She. Put. A. Lot. In. The. Song
Will show you the way , sing Girl...
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Love it… whereas a lot of singers overpower the high notes this was done subtle
An #Aretha original. #PennedByAretha
TheKoolkanadian actually this song was written by her sister Carolyn Franklin....but Auntie ReRe wore it out!!! My favorite song by Aretha
Morgan James does a great job , with no strain to project her voice.
she tries really hard and you can tell....she's just ok, certain types of people are just trying to push her and also compare her to others
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️💔👊🏿👏

Black Goddess, the most beautiful is the best, I love you forever 😍😘
Tell The Story
They definitely needed back up singers especially for this song. It NEEDS the back up as important part of this song. XXX
Unbelievable
she kinda sounds like aretha
I would say Jennifer Hudson.
Criscross nope , Jennifer Hudson got that heavy vibrato
True really sound like Aretha but more heavier
She sure does. My eyes was closed and i hear Aretha's tones
The guitarist spoilt it when he played.
