Jennifer Hudson recently sung this so well until it was unfortunately ruined by someone in the room pulling his pants down , being an attention seeking lad.... and he destroying her song as she couldn't keep on. its just NOT an easy tune to sing. And I think Aretha's original, is mythologized so much, because of the laid back way she approaches all the upper register-stuff. She doesn't prepare herself for those notes...she just slides into them, like she's puttin' on her house shoes, every morning. No big deal..after all, its Aretha, not Annette Funicello.
