  • HOW TO SEE ARGENTINAS WINE REGION - BIKES & BODEGAS IN MENDOZA!
In this video we arrive in the city of Mendoza which is right in the heart of Argentinas wine region. We waste no time getting out to sample some of the words most famous Malbecs!
We decided to to do a self guided tour of the wine region on bikes, in our heads it was going to be some peaceful and luxurious cycling through vineyards, sipping wine, but the reality was somewhat different to this. It was a lot of fun and the wine tasted great but the cycling definitely got more difficult after each winery that we visited, who knew alcohol would make navigating around on bikes so difficult! Still we made it to three (technically four but one was closed) wineries or bodegas as they’re called in Argentina and each one was completely different to one another but all had some great wines.
We hired our bikes from the most lovely bike hire company - Mr Hugos Bikes and while we highly recommend him we wouldn’t necessarily recommend this cycle route, it was crazy and far from peaceful and scenic along a busy main road to get to the wineries.
We spent a total of 10 days in Mendoza and despite not being big drinkers in general, we could not stop drinking the Malbec, everyday, it’s so good and so affordable, it’s a good thing we don’t live there!

We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. We started this TH-cam channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts in our vlogs and blogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content fun & useful :)

There are about +2500 wineries in the province, tourists usually go to the closest ones in Maipú or Luján, but there are important wineries with restaurants and hotels in Valle de Uco (Tupungato, Tunuyán and San Carlos) and in the south, San Rafael .
The city is prettier towards the outskirts, with a huge and beautiful park: San Martín, and Cerro de la Gloria, nightlife on Aristides Villanueva street, also in a district a few kilometers to the south: Chacras de Coria... etc etc...
There is foothill and high mountain tourism, like Potrerillos, Puente del Inca, or the Aconcagua views...
In San Rafael is the Atuel River Canyon, not to be missed !
And much much more, when there is enough time, hahaha !!
Your videos are beautiful in Patagonia and in the Iguazú Falls.
    Greetings (translated with Google Translate)

I used to work at a winery, making certain fruit wines, i also travelled around certain wineries in southern and northern California tasting. It was fun.

What a fun way to experience the different wineries! Yeaa for success with Google Translate 🙌 we really should use it more when traveling. Recently I tried ordering a latte multiple times when traveling..sometimes I got a latte... sometimes I got a hot chocolate..and once I got steamed milk 😆 always a surprise.
That beet hummus at the first stop looked delicious! I would have been very interested in trying the chocolate wine at the 3rd stop 😁
I sure had a laugh at the bloopers, for some reason there tends to be more when drinking is involved 😆

    • @TideKnotTravellers
      @TideKnotTravellers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Ahh we also accidentally ended up with steamed milk when asking for a latte in the South of Argentina, guess they thought we said leche?😂
The hummus was so good and as you can tell so was the wine! The chocolate one was great but then we were quite tipsy by that point 🤪
