@@treloughfarrer7604 The inside lane does seem to have a huge advantage. Perhaps if they made it 2 laps it would not be as big a deal as it might average out.
@@OverlandOne yes and no. Really depends on alot of factors but ive noticed it really comes down to the driver

I was at this event and I came back to get some nostalgia to remember how great this night was. First, Chilli's, and then came down here to this show. I took this night for granted, and I would go back in time to relive it all over again if I could.

Not only did the Caddy get the jump on the start which I did not see coming but the RX loses control forcing the Caddy to slow down. That was entertaining. Glad the Caddy won with the poor results from the RX.
@Rique It was pretty obvious that the RX8 was gonna beat the cadi at the last corner if it didnt spin out, and even so, I never said the RX8 was good or the cadi. I was only saying that the cadi did not "smoke" the RX8, it just bet it
@Rique I agree, winning is winning, and yea, the driver is at fault for loosing control and all, but if that didnt happen the RX8 would have won
The Cadillac's and the Dodge's were my favorite and all did very well. These types of track races are always a blast!

Fun stuff, fast caddy, and I'm taking the other side on the announcer... he was more than a little grating, but the sarcastic commentary won me over. For those hatin' on him, try not to take this whole thing too seriously, just enjoy it for the goofy spectacle that it is, announcer and all.

We use to have these at my local circle track years ago and i went to everyone i could , my BMW M5 got hit hard at one event by a kid driving a 3/4 ton dodge . Sometimes the way she goes accidents happen and it was back again two weeks later .

@stoner aquatics no. There is only one Leroy. There are Vette Carts. But there is only 1 Leroy. I have yet to see another Vette Cart that does 7s.

At the Lawton Okla. drag strip When i was just 16 yrs old back in 1985, i raced my Dad's 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V against a old mostly stock pick up, I won.... barely. But I was 16 and my friends were watching ha lol.... bragging rights.... I red lined that dang Lincoln every gear, all three on the column lol, with overdrive..... Next monday at school i was saying I won at the drag strip.... I wasn't lying

...cant get any better, had an alfa 156 2.0ts myself which was around 20 years old. ive put around 850 for the car and 500 for tuning in it and went 243kmh gps on the autobahn.papers said 216kmh but lol xD

Man. I liked the announcer!!! He mad slow boring MINIVAN races FUNNY and much more interesting. Watch the same video with No sound and theirs no way it’s better.

The problem is his humor style is sarcasm and a lot of conservatives can't lighten up and see that as humor. I tell you this, I would not sit and watch a fucking mini van race an old Cadillac if it were not for his little witty comments.

My guess is Carvette was low on gas, and the left turns starved the engine. Right turns worked just fine.

Looked to me like he had a loose battery cable or something. The Gs could have affected that as well.
@@EricFixalot He was losing his LED lights but not the bulb lights, it still had battery connection but the engine was dying when he came to a hard stop or took a left turn. Low on fuel I would agree with.
Xx0kXX300X Fair point, I once had a truck that would die only while turning left onto a particular road. Turned out the wire to the oil pressure switch was sometimes grounding out and killing the fuel pump. Clearly the car has some kinks to be worked out either way lol.
Whats left of that corvette without the shutting off issue is by far the fastest car ive seen at one of these. More seat time, better tires, and the issue fixed and this thing will own all at these events
ElteeMullet, the whole point of this is to have fun and run what you drive. Full on race cars should not and will not be allowed to run at these events. He tried and he lost.
Nascar is failing because of events like this. THIS is actually entertaining. Thanks to those participating!

@@mrRufffnTumble The Corvair in the video was a second generation model. They came with fully independent suspension instead of the swing axle rear suspension in the first generation Corvairs that had led to some crashes, a couple of high profile fatalities, lawsuits, Nader's book, and a lot of bad press. The second generation cars had great handling for the time and were as safe as any car on the road in the '60s but the damage was already done. In their typical fashion, GM cheaped out and ignored the advice of engineers in order to save a couple of dollars per unit on the first generation cars, then fixed the issues in bits and pieces in subsequent model years and completely with a suspension redesign on the second generation car, but it was too late. Right or wrong, public perception of the Corvair was already damaged beyond repair.
With the Corvair and in so many other instances over the years (Vega, Olds 350 diesel, Caddy V8-6-4, the X-cars, etc), the expression "closing the barn door after the horse was gone" was a perfect description of the way GM operated.
