The best driver that there ever was. So sad when he died. I was watching the race live on TV with my father. There was a helicopter filming him being attended to by the medics. You could see Aryton laying there with his helmet still on. There was a pool of blood next to his head. I turned to my father and said I think he's dead. I couldn't quite believe it. Such a sad moment I'll never forget.

As a Brazilian, I can tell you it was and still is the feeling shared by many of Brazilians. We used to say that Senna was family because all the family would wake up, get out of the bed and fix the breakfast and rush to the TV room to watch him race. When he died, it hit us all hard... It seemed a dear loved relative had died... In a way, that's exactly what happened. I have cried while watching this video... And will do so for the rest of my life.

Thank you for the video. Senna is one of the best I've ever seen. I was a huge fan getting up at 7 on Sunday mornings to watch him on Speed channel. You asked a question; they do stop a practice or qualifying for a crash. Something else in the video, they talk about how much faster as his teammate, what's remarkable about that is the cars are supposed to be virtually identical. The time comparison between teammates is usually tenths or even hundredths of a second. In 1988 he out qualified his teammate the great Alain Prost by 1.4 seconds. Incredible!

Ayrton is a brazillian hero. Not only did he won races and gave us pride, but he also donated millions to charity. To this day, we have the Ayrton Senna Institute in Brazil, that helps educate underprivileged children.
I recommend you look up some footage of his funeral in Sao Paulo. The whole city was mourning.

Thank you doing this reaction video! I remember watching Formula One and Indy Car when I was a young kid in the 1980s rooting for drivers such as Ayrton Senna and Rick Mears. F1 and Indy Car are the reasons I not only fell in love with NASCAR and Moto GP but motorsports in general. It's unfortunate that I never got to meet Ayrton Senna and watch him race in person. I was living in Riverton,Wyoming in 1994 and I was 13 years old when I found out on the World News that Ayrton Senna had died after a very hard crash in the San Marino Grand Prix. He was 34 years old.

Just watched this and it brought back so much admiration for the genius of Senna. You honestly have to watch an Ayrton Senna tribute by Honda. It's 6 mins long and is Musically and visually a work of genius. Enjoy it as it's a masterpiece.

I'm continually impressed with the community of folks who follow this channel. Requesting not only some of the greatest music ever recorded but also this piece about Senna. I honestly would have never predicted or expected this here. It's great because race drivers are seriously passionate about their craft and that is inspirational. This was cool to watch.
    Speaking of Brazilian racers.....
Congrats to Helio for winning an historic 4th Indianapolis 500!!!

Have not been to a F1 race, but have been to Indianapolis for the 500 several times. The sound of 33 race cars thundering down the track is AMAZING to hear.

There are like 4 documentaries about him and Senna remains the only driver to have a higher fanbase outside his home country.
Senna honestly couldn't have a Top 10. A Top 30 would be easy to put together.
    Very nice reaction video. Subscribed!

May 1st 1994 was the last time I watched Formula 1 with interest. Ayrton was the GOAT. Like millions, I saw him die on TV. I remember switching off my tv set and burstin tears. He was the most brilliant driver I have ever witnessed. I remember his car dancing on the track even under heavy rains. That was just magical.

Loved this one Jamel, F1 and sports car racing are a big passion of mine. I was watching the race live on TV when Senna was taken from us. I'm in process building my fourth track car.... it's a powerful addiction and I love it.
I have no idea how they go so fast in the rain. My home track (Mid-Ohio) is literally an ice rink when it's wet.

There is a video of him (his view) driving a lap in Monaco in his frentic Honda powered race car....it's an older tv video, but oh man, so intense. He was hard to beat and if it rained....forget it, he was The Man.

Senna was one of the best. If you ever feel like checking out more grand prix stuff, you should watch the movie "Rush". It is about the 1976 World Championship battle between James Hunt and Niki Lauda. It was dramatized a little, but I think it did a pretty good job of staying true to the source. Safety has come a long way. Those guys back then had some cajones!

You MUST watch the documentary "Senna" on Netflix whether or not you care at all about auto racing. A very intense competitor, yet a very compassionate and spiritual man, his talent and dedication make him an icon, his tragic death elevated him to legendary status.
Very emotional film about real events.

Hello Jamal, In "good old days" (but sometimes tragic) of Formula one, races were never cancelled because of an accident ......just stopped the time to lift the injured (or dead) driver !!! They were driving under the rain too, and Senna as Schumacher or Verstappen today, was very good at this exercise !! Senna was 34 in 1994 when he died !! World Champion 88, 90, 91. 41 victories, 65 pole positions in 161 GP from 1984 to 1994 !! My favourite driver was Nigel Mansell, the man he beats for 14 thousands of a second in Spanish GP 1986.......but I miss Senna very much !!!!
