Yang zi in lost you forever was really smart... It seems aged women in China have no value... They are simply obsessed over play school kid like girls who are extremely thinny skinny with nasal baby tones.. China gets so many Olympic gold medals, why don't they portray such powerful women who are swimmers, gymnasts, archers, strong and bold... And male CEOs, at twenties, flat stomach and force distressed girls to kiss.. But bromances like the untamed and the word of honour were great... Watched them for many a times.. War of faith, level best series...

I started to watch Cdramas because I got bored with western movies. All you said is true and sometimes it’s too much I fast forward but usually it’s a script badly written. The costumes they wear are beautiful and sometimes the baby girl thing makes me feel like vomiting but they are usually great actors eg The Untamed and the latest one I’ve watched is Blossum in Diversity which is excellent. It’s true maybe out of 20 only maybe 7 are worth watching but I guess depends what you like. 😊

In as much as I have watched rather cringe Chinese dramas, there are some good ones out there; Nirvana in Fire for example. Of course I have had issues about them; ranging from chauvinistic male characters, clingy child like behavior of female characters, sleeping with make up on, full robes, head gears) so totally unrealistic!
When I do watch these dramas, I do it for the plot, the thrill, the ost, the fantasy ( doesn't matter how crappy the CGI is) and of course, excellent acting( Untamed, Joy of Life, TMOPB), Blood of Youth, Ashes of Fire, Empress Ruyi). As long as the plot is intriguing and fast, I will binge watch happily. Every production has it's own shortcomings, every story has an AU ending😂(thanks to fanfiction). Nothing can satisfy you entirely, including the money you are earning. We always want more. We always qish things were better. But this is the society we are living in. Let us cut each other some slack.
My advice to you, be diverse. Watch an Indonesian drama, pick an Indian movie with Hrithik Roshan, watch a new K-drama,pick that historical movie you saw its trailer (Seven Kings Will Die), or pick Dracula drama for a change. Have more options

I agree with the women as a man thing. I don't mind if they just do the costuming with no mustache, but that mustache always just looks creepy. I also agree with the second leads . I watched The Long Ballad and skipped episodes and fast forwarded through most of it to just see the second leads romance as I liked it more and was not a fan of the FL. I would love to see more of the second lead gets the girl endings like Love Better Than Immortality.

    Romantic entanglements.
As soon as a couple gets too close, they must quickly be separated by a misunderstanding which makes one believe (more or less logically) that one of them is in love with someone else. One of my worst memories is And the Winner is Love when a stupid heroine abandoned a charming hero who did everything for her simply because she was made to believe in an OLD relationship between him and another ! She didn't even want to listen to his explanations for 10 episodes even though she was suffering from depression !

Sorry but I don’t think the picture of Amu and afu from Love Like the Galaxy should be included in controlling parents. She was a general who was actually clueless about how to care for a daughter she left since birth. I think she was actually lost and clueless about her own relationship with her daughter. Also, Nianiao wasn’t really controlled by her hence the conflict between the two characters. Yes, she was annoying but it was because her idea of a proper lady and the way she tried to raise her daughter didn’t really match again I think because she doesn’t really know how to approach having a daughter because she was so used to being a general with soldiers.

Here is a tip to select good c-dramas,
    1. Avoid xianxia dramas, only watch xianxias with good reviews and ratings. (Xianxia dramas are usually about gods, demons, immortals etc and they unnecessarily drag the drama including multiple lives. 80% of these dramas are boring and very predictable. There are few good ones out there like ten miles of peach blossoms, Till the end of the moon & lost you forever.
    2. Avoid high school dramas. These dramas are filled with rookie actors/actresses with bad acting skills or idols. Repetitive plot with babyish female leads embarrassing themselves infront of oh so popular ridiculously all rounder MLs. I've only seen very few decent high school dramas.
    3. Avoid the CEO- poor FL dramas AT ANY COST!!!
    Hope this will helps!

I think Lusi is a great actress but I think most of her character ended in marriage by end of the series. Create more drama without being predictable. It can get boring and slowly looses audiences. IMHO.

The tropes. Spinning, sworn enemies, ML catching the FL or rescuing her very theatrically, Costumes that never get dirty. Hair that stays in place and clothes that are dry after coming out of the water, The cross dressing females with makeup, The cold CEO... can't there be any other kind. Most of the bad actors that look good don't know how to not look stiff when playing the cold character, The predictable dialogue. Why is everyone wearing white? and have so much light on their faces. It is so unnatural. Having 30+ year old actors playing teenagers. It is not the actor's fault, scripts that have demanding roles should age up their characters be more appropriate. Continuity issues, Falling off the cliff or underwater kisses. Can you come up with a fresher idea? I really liked The Romance With You. It was low budget and the acting and script were not that good. It had a lot of problems, but it was fresh to have the ML be totally disinterested in the female, and for the brother to cross dress and become the wife of his enemy. And the maid was totally different. The runaway bride rescuing the men, And having the ML deciding he was not going to let his "wife" go. Even the spinning and accidental kiss tropes had very different outcomes. Unrealistic endings and that make no sense. or have good closure. A sad ending can still have closure. And ending that is illogical just leads to confusion and disappointment. Not to mentions the serious injuries that get healed overnight. Time travel where it is just a dream or the heroine has to go back to the future.

I don't understand why after women cry like a baby, then turn around and bite the male lead like she's some kind of rabbied dog and the male lead pits up with the female lead dling that to him and they still get married in the end. If a gril bit a guy's arm in real life, the dude would punch her in the face, especially here in America.
