Very cool. I just learned a quick way to check the rudder on a v trail for correct direction. One way is if you place the left wing tip on the ground the v tail pointing up will act just like a rudder. The other is the rudder goes in the opposite direction of the ailerons. Good luck on the maiden! Mike
That's a good tip there. I figured I got it right if I set it up per the manual. It's pretty explicit that if you input right rudder, the left side does this and the right side does that and how much.
Good stuff…yeah the pumps can be a pain. I have one…I have replaced the regulator internals. Still acting up, so will replace the pump next. Trying to go cheaper first 😊. For balance the 91 is going to need a butt load of weight up front. I have three of these TF model airframe. Two V35 and one T34. I have a 150 saito in mine and still need probably 10+oz to balance. RCV 120 is almost spot on with the weight you need on this airframe. So getting about that much weight up front will work out nice! Excited to see the flight…
I'm very tempted to try a pump rebuild kit but I keep hearing that they are just not worth the hassle. Essentially you are just kicking the problem down the road and you are better off just converting to a non-pumped version.
No such thing as an easy restoration, just some that aren't as hard. Juts got my box of Dubro stuff for an ARF I'm putting together. The basic airframe was fine, but most of the hardware was junk.

The tail surfaces of a V-tail are commonly called "Ruddervator". 😃👍🏾 Great restoration. Love it!
HAHA! Thanks man!

As with most ARF's. I do the same with the VQ models kits available here in New Zealand
