- Chain Plying (also referred to as Navajo Plying) is a way to make a three-ply yarn from only a single strand. Spinners often use this method when they have spun singles from a multicolored top and want to avoid creating “barber pole” yarn as they ply. Chain Plying preserves the color changes of the original singles, giving you a striped yarn rather than a marled one. We show you how to chain ply your single together in this video!

You are a great teacher!! I think I can try to chain ply now. Thank you 💜
I like that you showed how to handle breaks in the singles. Very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for the troubleshooting breaks! I’ve never tried chain plying but this gives me more confidence that when I do try it, I’ll be able to manage. 😊
Thank you ❤ the best video I have seen on this really really helpful. Sending yarny good wishes from Katy from NZ 😊
Such a great video!!!
Thank you! A very helpful demonstration and explanation. This encourages me to give it a try. Other demonstrations went too fast for me
Very interesting! Thank you!
Why make the loops so short? WHy not make just one loop for each stretch of your arms? I never thought Navajo plying meant doing that every few inches!
