  • Learning the Trails at three of the Adirondack's Highest Peaks: Algonquin, Iroquois & Wright in the imposing MacIntyre Range. This range is home to gorgeous views, a fragile ecosystem and the wreckage of a 1962 military plane crash. The mountains also endure some of the most extreme weather in New York State.

    Those little board bridges were not there when I did Iroquois and that "low" section was nothing but mud. We called it the Iroquois Tar Pits and yes, one of us went in. Another great video.

      Thanks again! I was told the puncheons are relatively new. That "unmaintained" maintained stretch was a breeze.
      Pokey's 46er correspondent called Iroquois' mud "Adironda-muck" and told us it was at least knee deep when she did it.
