Love to see another Marrow Gnawer build! Potential card worth adding is Plague of Vermin. With three Rat colonies on the board, can easily pump them up to swing for KO. Can even save Marrow Gnawers tap ability if they decide to board wipe, creating an insane number of rats. Also an easy win con if you have Ayara on the board.
Also, my playgroup tends to remove thrumming stone/Thornbite staff the moment they come in. Having something like Myr Retriever or Buried Ruin to bring back those artifacts is very useful.
I don't personally think Plague of Vermin is that good in a Rat Colony based deck. Rat colonies are fragile and usually only squeak through because Marrow-Gnawer gives them fear. Plague of Vermin gives my opponents blockers that trade with my colonies. You'd need an additional source of evasion like Eldrazi Monument or Akroma's Memorial to make it work.
Illusionist's Bracers on Marrow-Gnawer is so good. Had a game the other day where my buddy had a card that doubled token creation for everyone, I ended up with around 160 rat tokens total because of that and Illusionist's Bracers in about 3-4 turns.
I run Magewright's Stone, Thousand-Year Elixir, and Patriar's Seal to make way too many rats. Gruesome Fate and Tainted Strike are finishers I'd super recommend.
Black market is a great add! You can pay 2 life every-time and get the card draw and treasure token. But if u wanna get the shapeshifter too, cause it will also count as a rat to boost ur rat count!
Unfortunately, this deck has 102 cards if you include the commander: so you will need to cut two cards to make this a legal deck. I’m also curious which two you would get rid of? Otherwise, absolutely fantastic deck! 😁👍
Oh 100% I mean to be honest, the fear mechanic alone is a way to possibly beat ur opponent with krenko lmao. As well ur gonna have a lot of rat blockers and what not!
