Perfect cuts and their angle cuts were dead on. Everything fit together as it should, perfectly. Look at your own homes, cabinets etc., and see if the joints are as smooth as you just observed in this video. Unfortunately, this country does not have many true craftsmen anymore.

Here's the thing, in the perfect workshop, with state of the art machinery and tools, most people can make good quality stuff with the right training. These guys don't have that, it's old and make shift equipment, home made try squares, no dust extraction, no safety guards, no SHOES, and yet their ability and skill level is 20 out of 10 and their work is exceptional. I am more than impressed, put any UK professional carpenter in their environment and they would not even step foot in the place let alone make anything so beautiful.
In the West it would all be done with plywood and mdf and pre-fabed moldings....and it would look like it.

I have been living in the States for over 45 years. To be honest most of my wood furniture here are made from fake wood or cheap paper wood. Except hard wood floor (house was built in 1930). Before covid 19 happened i had a chance to visit Vietnam, my home land, there i have seen real wood furniture everywhere.
You can order a nice book case with your own designer the cost wouldn't be over 300$ with REAL, REAL, SUPER REAL hardwood of your choice and again its only in Vietnam.
In the States.... i can't order unless I agree to be charged 4 thousand or up. Why? because they, the furniture store, need to call my country to order.
I miss Vietnam.

Amazing skill build
While I certainly appreciate the craftsman ship of these fellows the techniques are very old and a standard in carpentry. No one has really done much innovative in a while we are all just making the same stuff the same way in different sizes as people did 100's of years ago.

Here in UK we just use 69mm MDF moulding, it's much quicker but not as grand looking lol

Anytime you see a person wearing sandals or flip flops around power tools and attentive to details, that’s a strong indication that you’re looking at a skilled craftsman. No such thing as OSHA there.

Nice work but why is the other millwork 10” higher than the display case , and they did it all in flip flops or barefoot, hope no one stepped on a nail or dropped a hammer on their toes ..never leaving the house 🦶 while using some very sketchy tools

Hey, no question about the quality of the look of the finished work. A few questions to consider though ... How many of these guys are going to have the use of all of their fingers after 10 years of this work? (not many). How many of these guys are going to have a life-threatening respiratory problem in less than 10 years? (most of them). How many of these guys are going to lose an eye in less than 10 years (at least a few of them). These work practices are all HIGHLY illegal in the Western world - for a good reason - they are absolutely not sustainable. Oh, and while we are talking sustainable - how many of the timbers they use are sustainably harvested? None. Indonesia has one of the worst records for forest destruction in the world - much of it hardwood that will take generations to regrow - but hey, nice furniture though ...
you should be a safety officer at the construction site and join the anti-deforestation organization, please, enjoy the art, to create solar panels that contribute to clean energy, but really it's not clean, ok
