Happy Birthday! I turned 24 this year, I feel like I'm 40 years old when all I want to do all day is cuddle up in warm blankets, drink some tea and read a book.

The characters were so two dimensional and I actually listened to the audiobook of Zusak's book "The Underdog" and the two brothers in that were exactly the same as all of the Dunbar brothers!!
@@baileymerlino2945 me too. Luckily I got an early copy so didn't spend my money on it but that's what makes me so annoyed. They didn't do any marketing or promo so that people would see it and buy it :( If you bought it from a bookstore I'm sure you could return it, but you never know, maybe it'll click with you and you'll love it

I already said it on Saturday, but it bears repeating: Happy Birthday!!! Also, don't feel bad about CoBaB. I liked it, but it wasn't a five star read for me either. And yes, Pride was SO good. I thought she was so clever in the way she mixed things up and reinterpreted them. She made it more than just a retelling.
Happy birthday Hailey! I read a total of 5 books this month: Legendary, Steelheart, Firefight, Calamity and The Upside of Unrequited. My favorite this month is Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson and the least favorite is, sadly, The Upside of Unrequited. I really tried to like this book but I ended up giving it 3.5/5 stars.
Happy Birthday! I totally agree with you on children of Blood and Bone, it’s good but not the best thing ever like some like to think. I’ve only read the physical book for AART but I think it would probably make a lot more sense then the audio book. I didn’t have that much trouble comprehending it, but I also went in expecting the type of story it was.

We share a birthday, I was also born on November 30th. Except I turned 40 *laughs* Happy belated birthday!! Of Fire and Stars was the first book that got me into reading more at the beginning of the year. I knew nothing about it at all when I got it at the thrift store and I was surprised about the fact there was a F/F story in there. Happy about that, actually.
I liked Children of Blood and Bone, but I kept comparing it to Avatar. So many things reminded me of that precious show and it affected my enjoyment of the book. Happy Birthday btw!! 😁
Happy birthday Hailey !! I felt the exact same way about Children of Blood and Bone, I hated the "love stories". They all felt so forced. That's sadly often the reason why I try to stay away from YA... But the promises always get me haha (which is why it's so frustrating to me when more than half of the book is a romance that's wasn't mentioned in the synopsis. They probably think it's a spoiler but honestly you can usually see them coming from a mile away haha)
