As someone who follows his Instagram, he's an egomaniac with a fetish for authoritarianism.
He's a good musician, but someone needs to dose him and bring him back down to earth.

I think he's just hyper naturally. He's got a high IQ and he thinks and speak fast.

I like Tom Morello but artists are reaching so hard to get new sounds and it may be interesting but sounds like what it is way too try hard. Everyone needs to come to terms with the fact that most all the good ideas have been done already.

This was a perfect balance of Music and Politics. I got into Guitar because of Tom Morello and love the Social Justice he has always stood for. Also, loved the look of the B&W interview, gave off a good artistic vibe.

Tom likes to talk about his love of shredding but I've never heard him actually shred. Solos?....yes on the old stuff. Riffs........always 4/4.

It's an art form, Glen Tipton isn't Morello and Morello isn't Glen Tipton ( master of the 30 second solo), a way of story telling and sometimes you gotta break the mold , NiN no solos either but it sure kicks ass

as he says in many interviews the shred was a norm when he started but for him that race ended during college when he saw some guys shredding twice as fast during some local performance event and that's when Tom started to working on his own voice on the instrument. That's pre Lock Up FYI, so no wonder you can only hear some shred-vibe bits and pieces during some of his solo parts.
As for riffs - I might be mistaken but there was a good portion of non 4/4 riffs during Audioslave.
