@@Harako15 it’s all in his reed and style of reed making. Yes he has phenomenal tone and practice to help but all of that darkness is mostly from his excellent reeds and style of reed making. It’s incredible and I am so jealous.

How is your tone so dark?? It's my favorite oboe sound I've ever heard.
Who knows, he probably does various tone exercises like long tones and it might also have something to do with the brand of his oboe.
