Steve Reich: Drumming
Rarely performed in its entirety, we offer an opportunity to hear Drumming as it was originally meant to be heard, 70 minutes of pure minimal magic.
In 1971 American composer Steve Reich wrote a work for 12 musicians called Drumming. That same composition was later destined to become perhaps the most well known and defining composition of the minimalist movement. It was hugely controversial in its day and over 40 years later it still has the power to mesmerize and fascinate listeners who have to opportunity to experience it.
