I was selling a lovely long Blue Cardigan for 50p at a boot sale back in May. The lady gave me £10 😮i said sorry i dont have any change. She had already put it in her bag. She said cant i just have it😂this was in front of other paying buyers. I was like no sorry. Then she found 50p😊

I think the guy that tried to walk off without paying for some items and the shoe moocher were a couple, they probably swiped quite a lot during the day with their methods.
I would genuinely give myself ‘the ick’ if I ever went rummaging in somebody’s boot while they were trying to set up at a car boot.
I find that pricing everything for a grand gets rid of them
Dealers are the worst they are there as soon as you drive on open your boot they are trying to rummage through your stuff looking for gold and shit

10:03 this is about distraction. These thieves rarely work alone. Often your attention is taken so the other can steal. This woman is going to be a regular & does this every week. It is just how low some are.

I had Romanian gypsies try it with me at Denham car boot sale. There was a family of 4/5 of them. I was sat in my car side on & one of them blocked off my view while another picked up a £2 pair of shoes & walked off hurriedly. I knew what was happening from the start & went after him & grabbed the shoes back. These people are pure scum who offer nothing to this country, they shouldn't be here.

I have gathered up so much crap this past few months from part time reselling and have considered doing my local car boot as a seller but your video and the one Mitch from Retro Rummage did lately scared the hell out of me. Bloody vultures not even giving you a chance to unpack and then the cheeky woman stealing a pair of £3 shoes. Not sure I coudl keep this calm when setting up, I might have to take a stick to beat them off with. Great work and love that you always remaian polite when buying and selling. Shame many don't.
I sell at one that do not allow traders to approach you before 9am when they open. If they catch anyone they are asked to leave the site. Have to say it's great not to be pestered whilst your setting up. Have been to other local areas that allow other traders to hound you😂you just got to say..come back later when I am set up
On the buyer stealing the shoes. As a seller you pay £8_12 entry fee to gave anything go missing when you really need to make back your entry fee is 😢
@@endlessglizzys_.0233 9am? Omg we start selling anywhere from 3-5 am. We can set up through the night or rock up and grab the bays we want, relax in the car until closer to opening. It's great. I still ward off some of them though, the ones I don't trust. Thieves operate on opportunity so they watch for when you are distracted or if there is something valuable they want, they will set up a distraction. The chinese are the worst offenders in Australia. They are arrogant knowing there are no consequences. Cops don't care

love the hustle and bustle when your selling and its gets a bit crazy like this. as long as you keep expensive stuff close and put everything so you can see it. you made some good money and prob got space back in your storage .. winner winner

Was so wierd to hear that rollsy resells chap mention the Bridgemary bootsale in Gosport. I grew up in Gosport and my dad worked at that school for a spell and used to help out at the sunday booty. I had a stall there on quite a few occassions as a kid too. Used to buy time stamped vhs of new release films back in the day there too 😂. Would go there pretty much every sunday it was on. You dealt with the vultures well they were pretty relentless.

That's same as mate,while I'm setting up people push, go in car leave shit everywhere they've pulled out,and I can take it for 30 seconds then I just lose and shout "right everyone I need 10 minutes go away if I see you later then,great".I do that cad boot and Sunday/bank.hols. one down road and you get right dinlos there.a theif would get a punch for sure a d the blaggers that want it all for a quarter of what I ask just get a stare.they either buy it or fuck off within 10 secs.i always make atleast 200 and don't do timewasters I swear my blood pressure goes through roof.its all about respect,they don't give it they dont get it!

That's how I would approach it, Like buying and selling a car. You know people are going to put in an offer a few 100-1000 lower than your asking price
The lady who stole the shoes, and the guy who tried to rip you off £7 were a "tag team". They were clearly working together, and you've probably realised this with hindsight.
It's an old shoplifting trick. You have one person causing a distraction - normally by being demanding, or knocking over displays - and while the staff are busy dealing with that, the other person ( or person's - depending on how many), will take what they need and GTFO.
The worst part is, they probably took the shoes so they can sell them themselves.
Fair play for keeping calm, this video gave me anxiety!!!
That’s the worry I have about doing a boot, if I’m on my own it’s difficult to track everyone and what that are doing, especially the first half hour or so

I am new to reselling I am slowly beginning to learn about different things to resell. I am really interested in reselling shoes but there's a few things that I need to figure out before start dabbing with them.
1. Shoes you get in carbon. Most if not all are dirty looking , dusty ---> How do you decide if they are worth picking up and reselling.
These shoes that you pick up how do you go about cleaning them. Do you just chuck them in the washing machine or do you have certain items that you use to clean these?
I'm a shoe newbie so trying to figure this out
2. So once you bought these shoes and cleaned them off- Do you seal and poly wrap it after taking photos. which then goes into a storage until coming out when the sal goes through?
3. Shoes - When you buy shoes how do you do research on that . meaning which type of brand / sub brand of shoe it is?
4; How do you wrap and ship these shoes?
Im just trying to increase my knowledge on this so I can start picking them up

The Pi price varies on which model it is. The original Pi are starting to go up in value again. Just the bare board, without power supply, cases, I/O devices and SD cards are aroind a tenner. The more recent ones can be well over £100 depending on which memory setup they have.

every time i go to a carboot, i hear someone says my item is stolen. you have to have eyes like a hawk at all times(not me by the way), any small items you sell put them in a glass cabinet, people can still see but cannot get to it, maybe make it a perplex instead of glass and the hinges away from you. also the clasp towards you, tilt it too. just an idea. a few pance to build and make is better then losing a few £££s more.
You should have parked your van the other way around so you could have easier access to the side door!

Ive been doing carboots/fairs and markets in the UK on and off for 10 plus years.
Your mistake was getting there late so you couldn't set up before public came in or you was unsure with it being a new selling ground or you are more a buyer than a seller.
As a second hand buyer/ seller we normally say we pay for our education, i suppose that's what you did.
Just get there before buyers if not be polite and control the crowd.
Get yourself sorted before selling because items will go missing before you realise it.
We did this on purpose 👍🏻we were selling off our shit and wanted the crowd. Haha all part of the plan
Sad thing is so many boot fairs are letting in the buyers at the same time as sellers these days. Or worse certain "gatemen" at a few boot fairs near me let their "preferred" buyers in before others. Sometimes its a nightmare as you get in and its just chuff left over, normally over priced chuff.

I pull up and wait for the swarm to pass down the the next few cars pulling up behind me then I go get a coffee come back and set up without the stress and theft 😂 You seem to scatter your stuff all around instead of keeping it close, people are walking through everything just looks like a logistical nightmare trying to keep your eye on stuff and deal with people
We try keep it as manic as possible , you lose a few bits to theft but the fomo lets you get higher prices

That Allington Lane Carboot sale near Eastleigh is the WORST car boot sale I’ve been to for both buying & selling on the south coast. I’m from Southampton and I never ever go to that one again either on a Sunday nor a Wednesday…some of the people there are horrid too I’m sad to say. Sorry you came all the way down here for that shite lol

There's a difference between bartering and scavenging. I don't go to car boots but occasionally I'll go to a collectors fair. I always say, 'would you be interested in an offer on this?' If they say no, I leave it at that. It's not only respect for the seller it's also self-respect. If they are open to offers and they refuse I thank them and move on. Hassling and passive bullying thinking you'll wear the seller down is the behaviour of a peasant. People need to understand that no means no.

I think 🤔 just by chatting to some of the other sellers in the local boot sales near me you must always lock your vehicle and never leave cash in it. Sadly i heard to many times where money had been taken out of cars😮.

Even the other sellers you have to watch. Caught one bloke last week slipping 2 extra vinyl records under his pile. They have no shame, don't even seem to care when they get caught

That tends to happen when you show up after open everyone swarms the new vehicle. It works well for us and it’s intentional ,, it allows us to ask for more per item and people pay because they have more urgency. But yes it’s a shambles and stuff gets nicked but that’s just how it is
