  • Whats shaking homies so today I got a sweet video on anodizing my NRB Trapcode Balisong. I wanted to make a sick custom ano on this balisong so I thought why not film it in case you guys wanted to see how. This process will work for anodizing anything that is titanium. The Balisong or Butterfly knife I am using is from NRB aka Not a Real Boy Knives check out his instagram here iamnotareal... and check out their website here www.nrbknives.com/. The supplies you will need to anodize titanium are listed here

    Thanks a ton for the video and great job on the anos. As a warning, it's not good to put Whink into glass or ceramic containers as it is hydrofluoric acid which reacts with them, and you should use plastic instead. Also, it's a good idea to mix baking soda in with the rinsing water to neutralize the acid.

      You absolutely DO NOT have to sand to anodize (assuming no paint or painted clear coat). The only finish requirement is that the surface is completely clean. Acetone and a little Scotchbrite, followed by a very quick Whink dip usually does the trick. Unless you want a sanded or brushed finish look. I've done a lot of knives with blasted, brushed, tumbled, and full polish. They will each yield a slightly different look with their own pros/cons. Will say that a well done bead blast can yield amazing deep rich colors. And also be much more fingerprint resistant, than say, a full polish or lightly brushed surface finish.

      You have to dye anodized aluminum it's got a few more steps than this but also very easy to DIY

    You should not have that much tsp at the bottom. It should be dissolved

    cool vid but you really shouldn't stick your fingers in the rust remover. even with gloves. it contains hydrofluoric acid which is REALLY gnarly stuff. i usually put each part on a small titanium wire and etch it while holding the wire above the surface to avoid exposure to the dilute HF. you also shouldn't use the rust remove indoors without proper ventilation. the fumes can cause lung irritation

    Ive watched several videos on anodizing titanium and in ever on they use titanium wire for the positive lead but they dont say why or maybe more importantly where to even find one... I went to every hardware store in Oceanside and I could not find titanium wire... Only thing I found was people looking at me funny because whats the point of using titanium wire..? If you are looking for conductivity look no further than copper. So why titanium wire..?

    • @Zaevia
      @Zaevia 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm still lost. You need to explain better. Like how you know what volts give you what color. And what the hell your doing. Like how to set up all the electrical stuff what what your dipping it in

    You don't have to take off the bead blast... the ano still looks good on a bead blast imo.
