The filming, the acting, the music…all ties into a classy masterpiece
100%
I love this version so much more than the remake. The music transports me to a different era where things were so, so much better than they are now, in my opinion.
They most certainly were.!!
Yes, our world was a better place then, christ look what we've come to.
What a weird bit of Fate as well, this vocal version of the top track sung by a brit
Michael legrand the Master!!!
Some absolute class music, what a stylish film this is...
One of the very best soundtracks!
The soundtrack is timeless and a masterclass
Masterpiece
The same, to me, dear Angela.....
Just LOVE the Noel Harrison voice in this song. So so addictive!
He died 2013....I'm sad
I watch this film all the time.
I first saw this film at high school when I was studying film and photography .It made a big impact on me at the time and it still does today not to everyones taste but for me technically perfect
Billions thanks,
Just returned from Boston and visited the movie locations
at Beacon Hill. Walked up Acorn Street with this music in my head.
Just fabulous !
So would I.
Gosh I wanna do that. Hope you took some great pictures.
Oh! Great.

Là haut
Thanks to you,
I heard the theme with the cascading piano starting at 11:00 to the end of the piece when I was in high school. That theme stayed with me until today, which is 50 years later! I never forgot it. It is the essence of suspense music. Yet it is "cool" which is the whole point of the movie. It's stylish and cool. And Steve McQueen is stylish and cool. And LeGrand's music is stylish and cool. Amazing that I remembered that theme all those years. Maybe that's why I'm a composer now.
LeGrand's orchestration is amazing. He switches between lush strings to jazz piano in two bars and then into a different theme again. Fantastic. No wonder French composers like Ravel and Debussy are so amazing.
It does sound very sixties, though. It makes me want to get a cigar, a snifter of bourbon, and dress up in expensive clothes and find a hot chick! Oh, well, I can dream.
I think the snifter is Napoleon Brandy
*@Nate* It's meant to sound very sixties. The film was made in the sixties after all. Wouldn't it be foolish and comical to have a soundtrack to this film sounding like it's from the 80's in the 60's or from the 40's and 50's dressed in sixties attire with everything from that decade?!
I have no word to describe how beautiful this is, reminds me a lot of Piero piccioni. 60s and begging of the 70s really got the most beautiful soundtrack ever made, this is impressive because you go from classical musical to jazz to bossa nova this is beautiful !
I think the whole movie was superbly well made, American craftmanship at its finest...
Steve McQueen's favourite movie of his own!
Sensational mr Legrand, the best heist movie ever !
RIP Michel Legrand A Classy Musician Jazz with Miles Davis and beautiful film score also Lady Sings the Blues
Fantastic music and fantastic film
Another fantastic soundtrack. Wonderful arrangement of the orchestra. Great musicianship!
Fabulous, just fabulous....... I love the movie and soundtrack.......
Thank you for uploading this masterpiece. You have great taste in music 😊
Thank you so much, January. Obviously you, too! :-)
Best!
Fred
One of the best composer !
like the blob theme more
11:01 damn.....perfection absolue
I just love the soundtrack .
An absolute joy!The epitome of the sixties with McQueen and Dunaway at the Apex of their careers..
🎶 ❤ Frank e Tom formidabili unici!! 🎶 non mi stancherò mai di vedere questo prezioso filmato. From Lake Como Italy
The most beautiful film with the greatest ever Steve McQueen - they don't make men like him anymore. Our loss 🙏
Legendary music
Nothing beats the original film or soundtrack...
Nothing.
RIP Michel Legrand
RIP Michel and Steve xxxxx
Thank you for this man- just fabulous stuff!!!
Brilliant score! From 11:01! PERFECT!!!
Unvergessen, besonders das letzte Stück. Ich sehe mich noch als Jugendlicher vor der Glotze in den 70ern und fasziniert von Steve McQueen und dieser Musik beim Abflug, magisch.
Film stupendo canzone meravigliosa
Greatest, magic
Michel Legrand, a well known french film composer, who has his roots in Jazz music, provided a superb Jazz based score for the original Thomas Crown Affair, starring Steve McQueen, with an Academy Award winning song "The Windmills Of Your Mind".
What is here presented are the actual film tracks. More of Legrand's lush and smooth compositions to come!
Enjoy!
Merci....
Thanks for clarifying that these are tracks from the actual movie. I noticed that some of the arrangements differ slightly from those on the soundtrack album. Anyway, some trivia that may already have been posted here: Mancini was originally offered the scoring job, but recommended Legrand. Great stuff.
Thank you again Fred
Thank's foris all contribution of art... and you for this , your lovelly contribution.
One of the best composers ever -sharing with Mancini! But legrand is edgier and a cool singer too.
This film music rivals west side story as the best ever ! Michael legrand was a genius.
He is gone, now, i miss him,
Michel Lagrand: un géant de la musique vient de mourir. A lot of sadness! An extraordinary, unique musician. Un artiste unique qui disparaît. Beaucoup de tristesse !
" Legrand "..
Michel Legrand a master, Steve McQueen, Faye Dunaway, Real Genuine Movie Stars.
One of my favorites in the vast collections of the 1960's movie soundtracks.
The movie is great! Better than that other remake of some years ago with Pierce Bronson as the main star. Why? It shows the actual flavor of Boston Americana of that era (1968). Steve McQueen was literally at his best in being one of the "Superstars" of the cinema. His next big hit: "Bullet".
Composer Michel Legrand did a fine job in making this jazzy & dramatic in his composing.
This is great! I was going to soon suggest this movie score to you, Fred. You did it! Yeah!
The best version.
So Fabulous!
11:01 onward, Utterly classic as she tears up the letter🤟
Great love story, but such a sad ending,
For gave, for sharing
Wonderful french musician ! Beautiful american actors, director and movie 🎥 !
vous avez entièrement raison... all is perfect
Never understood why they had to remake this brilliant movie.
What a movie!!! They certainly don't make them like this anymore 🎉
This movie was excellent as it soundtrack
RIP...
quel film,,,toujours,,,,magique music
…qu’est-ce que tu dis?
Cosmic music...
Dear soundtrack Fred....
Esta primera música que se escuchó es cantada por Noel Harrison y nó por quiénes son anunciados por el vídeo o figuran en la tapa del LP que vemos
Class
I wish Windmills of Your Mind & MacArthur Park would breed & spawn weird song-babies.
Great score! Hope you are able to post another of his greats ICE STATION ZEBRA.
Now on my to do list!
Wishing you all the best!
There are so many versions of this tune...question asked the count was something as 62 plus..
I have seen this movie so many times that just by hearing the soundtrack, I can see the action taking place. Genius, to take the same music and by playing it at a different speed, making it fit the scene. The slow, languid for when it is Steve and Faye. The ENDING in the cemetery, was she crying or laughing at the absurdity of thinking she had trapped him finally? Needless to say, the remake was a travesty as most are.
de acuerdo
Sandy, that's a good question about the ending. You know, I think a little bit of both.
I am here because of Haruki Murakami 😃
Me too. Makes me discover stuff all the time this guy
Way❤❤
So much...
If there was one song I wish I had written, it's this one. Pb
Dear soundtrak Fred...
No Boston Wrangler !
Who did this ‘mix’? It is very well done but and seems to have some takes not used on the original soundtrack but* a lot of it IS plucked directly from the soundtrack too (?). Was this ‘mix suite’ done by the composer himself?????
Michel's legrand's
Gret soundtrack,many song of persecution.
I've never watched this movie. Aomame brought me here.
The movie is great.....hooking up with Legrand to do the score is 1/2 the success. An enormous collaboration.
Do you have the whole recording of this great album? I would love to hear the whole album.
I prefer the glider scene for this tune
Se vendio por un Rolls Royce ❤❤
I have always tried to recreate the chess playing scene with a young lady but unfortunately they're all thick .....
Nityananda
Please help me. What is the name of the tune heard on the trailer for the original Thomas Crown Affair? I can't find it anywhere other on the trailer itself.
Hello!
It seems to be a variation on the "His Eyes Her Eyes" theme from the film, also composed by Michel Legrand. Unfortunately not released to this day, maybe lost to time, otherwise it would have been surely on Quartet Records' release of the complete film music.
where's the bowler hat scene song?
But, Michel let the gifts....
Where can you find song from 4:38?
Mejor versin segundas partes no son buenas❤
would it go with godfather theme
04:39
suddenly aware that her hide was the same shape as pare
Steve McQueen murió de un cáncer creo que de páncreas.
Pero tiene un final machista
RIP Michel Legrand
