Ephraim and Lyon were both fools who made terrible mistakes that deeply harmed their countries. Ephraim's mistake was seeking out glory when he should have protected his father and homeland. Lyon's mistake was trying to resurrect his dead father when he should have become emperor. Lyon died as punishment for his mistake while Ephraim lived regretting his mistake and making up for it.
This is a very sad piece of music, i was expecting to be able to save Lyon in the end, but things turned out very different. It's one of the reasons this is one of my top favorite games of all time, there wasn't a "happy ending" and that hit home very hard.
I love this theme so much..it really captures that "past" feeling so much. Reminds me of the earlier days of the internet and just childhood in general.
The best-written FE tragic villain. Arvis is a strong contender, but Lyon himself chose to tap into the power of the Dark Stone, while Arvis was lured into Loptyrism.
Lyon... such a tragic character. He reminds me of Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars: a good heart which wants to help people but they cannot withstand the idea of the death of a close person so they bow to a power they cannot understand, releasing consequences and corrupting them at the process... until all trace of good is destroyed. Well, at least Anakin redeemed himself in Star Wars 6, but Lyon...
i agree this is one of the best songs and sad at the same time makes me think of lyon i wish he did not die but im glad i unlocked him i use him all the time now.

Lyon is one of the best FE characters imo. People who only know awakening and fates have missed out horribly with the older FE games

This is by far one of the most underrated Fire Emblem songs.
"Yep, i'm going to use dark magic to resurrect my father while using the sacred stones, what could possibly go wrong?"
Im now 32 yrs old and still come back here, sad for Lyon. Rest easy bud.

always makes me cry :(
Im not crying... Ninjas are just cutting onions somewhere.
"Where...where did I go wrong?"

Speed this up and you get The Prince's Despair (Lyon's battle theme) kinda.
R.I.P. Lyon 3

Had this stuck in my head for the last 2 days. Funny thing is I played this game 4 months ago. Glad I managed to remember where it was from
