- Maxi Priest is blessed with a one in a million voice, a large dose of charisma, and universal appeal. Born in Jamaica, but raised in SW London, he's toured the world extensively and is interviewed here in 1990, in Ladywell, London with his home town crew, Saxon International and also in New York City's, Central Park.
Maxi is one of the artists who had several high-quality music videos already that did not get enough airplay. Included here are "Just a Little Bit Longer", and "Wild World". I unfortunately, had to edit out the footage from the 2 videos of "Close to You" that Maxi refers to here, due to copyright claims.
What is exceptional about this program, however is Maxi's graciousness and his excellent interviews inn both locations. And though we weren't prepared lighting-wise, Maxi gave us an outstanding, concert-quality performance of "Temptress" in rehearsal with his band, the Select Committee, at S.I. R. Studios in Manhattan.
Special thanks and remembrance to my old friend, the great tour manager, Zola Burse.
