Your certainly were a lucky recipient of so much stitchy goodness! So many great charts and linens, lots of possibilities! Leonardo is so handsome, it looked like the stick was keeping him occupied! Thanks for sharing the progress on your sewing sampler, it’s beautiful work.
What a fantastic box of stitching goodies! The wooden hoop is a Hardwicke Manor hoop and they're fantastic to use. I say reclaim that beautiful linen and stitch something you'll love on it. It's tedious to pick all that stitching out, but worth it to be able to use the linen. Have a wonderful week!
Things were given to you to do what you want with them. So pick it out and do one of your beautiful stitches on the linen!! I just love all your plans and retreat talk! Someday!🙏
Wow, for all the goodies that were given to you. I hope you keep the silks. They might not be in your color way but if you have a chart to try, it might not take much to buy a few. Silks are so expensive.
Hi Doreen... Leonardo is so cute. Looks like you had a nice visit with him. Hope all goes well with your son getting the new position in Raleigh. Your stitchey grouping looks great. If you like the linen but not the stitch frog it. Better to use the linen than waste it. The thread colors were beautiful on that linen so maybe you can use the same threads but with a different pattern. Have a good week!
You have made great progress on the wall grouping! I love your idea on the red, white and bloom for the vintage nut grater. I may borrow that😉. I began my first tiny cross stitch and it is so time consuming. It is on 16 count Aida for now. I bought an oatmeal hand dyed piece and it’s a good neutral. Wish me luck and thanks for inspiring me. Leonardo is so cute!
Thanks Carol. I was shocked when I went from punchneedle to stitching, and realized how long it takes. Also, how little thread it uses, compared to punching. Just don't be in a hurry, and you'll be fine.
I would finish it with my own colors for the face and put some rosy cheeks and a mouth. assume she has gloves and stockings that are white. maybe for the hair do some french knots for curly hair. the cloth is beautiful but not worth the trouble. thanks for sharing.
I just cut it off and use what I could. ❤I agree with u that person is scary. Lol lol Depending how long it’s been in there the threads could leave marks.
the fabric on the Kathy Barrick piece is indeed pretty, Maybe if you "frog" from the top down you can save a goodly piece or perhaps all. Do alittle at a time. Or consider a different hair do on the girl if you like the rest of the pattern. Thank you for your time.
I'd love to have and finish stitching this girl(i do have a pattern)! It's been in my dream pile for a while:) I would gladly pay for your order of a fabric you like and cover shipping cost of unfinished piece and thread to me?! Thank you for inspiration with punch needle! Watching you, I was able to overcome the fear and even bought one project to try!:)
I would be happy to do that! Do you have any idea what that fabric would be? The only fabric I've ever bought from a needlework shop, was the piece of evenweave that I showed in this video. The other stuff I bought was from Michaels, so I don't know much about it, except that I love that prim linen! I'm so glad that you are going to try punchneedle! Please make sure that you use either an Ultra Punch needle, or the Smart Punch. The ones in the big name stores are junk. Email me, or message me on FB or IG, about this project, and we'll get something figured out.
Hi Doreen! When you use the Nate Berkus fabric, do you use flaxen? It looks heavy and thick, so I’m not sure I could stitch on it even though I’ve been stitching for 40 year’s or more. Your stitching looks so perfect! Every time you show punch needle, I want to put my punch needle bag out, lol. Happy belated birthday 🥳. My wedding anniversary is May 11th, my mother’s death date is May 12 🥺(your bday) & my sisters bday is May 13th. Stitch on! 🧵🪡
What is flaxen? The fabric is a little thick, but it's very flowy, and soft. Doing punchneedle is a nice break from cross stitch, because you have a finish so much faster.
Hi Doreen, perhaps a viewer who likes the Elizabeth stitch, could swap with you a piece of clean linen, just a suggestion. Elizabeth I, comes to mind with the pale face.
On the pattern ...could u put a rabbits head on the lady ? That would look prim... I'd hate to remove all that stitching...an if it's just the lady u don't care for..give her a rabbit head... Just a thought.... Make this your own creation...💜

Thanks! It felt like Christmas as I opened it!
Love your punch needle and beautiful 🤩 finish! Great happy mail so many great charts. Have a wonderful evening and happy stitching 😊🪡🧵🤗🤩
Thanks Theresa!

Thanks for the hoop information. The stitch is being adopted by Kim, at Sassy Jacks Stitchery. She wants to finish it.

Thanks Nancy 💕
It is a nutmeg grater. Love it with the Brenda Gervais cross stitch!
Thanks Joan. Now I just have to take the time to apply it. :)
I am so happy you are still doing punch needle. Please don't stop. I need you for inspiration.
I think I will be doing more in the not too distant future. 😊
The grater idea is brilliant!
Thanks!
I think that thing you bought at the antique shop is a nutmeg grater. Good find.
That's what a couple others said. Whatever it is, it's cute!

I love the colors of the silk, and I decided to keep them! Watch my latest flosstube, to see what happened to the stitched piece.
The stitch is yours now. It was given to you. You get to do what you want with it. Don’t feel guilty about it❣️
Thanks for that. 😊
I use it for cinnamon. ❤
The little grater?
That sampler is gonna be gorgeous 😍
I'm trying to work on it today, but I keep having to do other stuff. ☹️
Now I'm going to be on the hunt for a vintage nutmeg grater! What great linens you were gifted!
I need to stitch faster so I can use them!
Beautiful stitching, Doreen. Leonardo is so sweet. That little face! ❤
He's a cutie!

I hope I can figure out something that will work for me. Thanks
I have been stitching vintage country mocha linen for years. It is a great fabric especially as your eyes age. They holes are easy to see.
I think it will be easy to stitch on. I had seen it once before, but didn't pay much attention to it then.
Happy Belated Birthday! My MIL gave me a nutmeg grater when we first were married, 40 years ago. I still have it somewhere, but have never used it!!
Good to know what it is!

Thanks for the feedback. It would be a ton of work to take that all out!
I just cut it off and use what I could. ❤I agree with u that person is scary. Lol lol Depending how long it’s been in there the threads could leave marks.
Kim, from Sassy Jacks Stitchery has adopted it, and will be finishing it. She liked the design.

Good idea. We were frogging from the bottom.

I agree with you I don’t like the pattern for the incomplete stitching piece. If you can’t frog the stitching I would cut the fabric & use the piece.
Thanks for the feedback!
Beautiful, sometime could you show a picture of your magnifying light, thank you
I'll show it on my next flosstube, because I'm getting a new one. I'll explain it on the video.
Thank you
Nutmeg grater ! Which nate fabric do you use ? There are a few different shades . I still don't know how you can see where to stitch ! ☆☆☆☆☆
It's called old country linen. There's another color that's darker, but the sale price for that one was higher.
You put a nutmeg in the top so it is ready to grate.
Thanks Mary. I've only bought nutmeg in a little jar. 😊

@@PriviesandPrimsNeedlecrafts flaxen is one of the color choices when I’m on JOANN’s website to order the Nate B fabric.
@@sheilalovesgreg3489 yes, that's the one I'm using. The other color was more expensive.
Hi Doreen, perhaps a viewer who likes the Elizabeth stitch, could swap with you a piece of clean linen, just a suggestion. Elizabeth I, comes to mind with the pale face.
That's an idea I hadn't thought of. Thanks 👍
Do you have a window open in this video? I hear the birds..
Yes, I had two windows open, right next to me. 🐦
I definitely like the darker color on the crow.
Me too. Thanks 👍
Just undo the lady, keep the birds and flowers. You could make a bag or something out of the stitch.
I gave it to the owner of Sassy Jacks Stitchery. She is going to finish it. We made a trade.
On the pattern ...could u put a rabbits head on the lady ? That would look prim...
I'd hate to remove all that stitching...an if it's just the lady u don't care for..give her a rabbit head...
Just a thought....
Make this your own creation...💜
That would definitely be unique! Or, a bird head, since it says "birds" at the bottom.
I would give the pattern & partial stitched piece away.
There was someone that said they would want it, and I replied to her, but she has not gotten back to me.
Perhaps you can find out the name of the cloth rather than ripping out all that work.
I don't want to buy more, I want to use the piece that I have, even if it's just a small bit of it.
Take it out or pass it on, don’t cut it. My opinion, only.
I may be passing it on. Thanks Mary.
