Al Dar Island Beach Resort, Bahrain - A Beach Adventure To Escape Island Fever Lockdown!

- Island fever was kicking in something fierce. As far as islands go, Bahrain is a pretty big one, but island fever still comes on strong. Especially when just about everything is shut due to the COVID lockdowns. I had to get off the island. I had to get off the island. I had to get off the island!!!!
How did I accomplish this? I took a boat to the Al Dar beach resort. Al Dar island is a very small island, but it is all beach, all bar, and all good life. I drove through some surprisingly heavy traffic, considering we are all on lockdown still in Bahrain, pas the Bapco oil plants and into the Sitra fishing port. Once there, I parked the beautiful Mustang, paid for a ticket, put on the wrist-band and then got bused over to the boat boarding point and we were off.
Riding the waves in that pretty fast speed-ferry, I felt that bit of freedom that the lockdown had sucked away. It felt like we were off on another adventure!
After about ten minutes of wave-riding, we arrived at Al Dar island and the beach adventure began!
Wasn't too much of an adventure, really, but i did explore the various beaches on the island. Sat down and ate some chicken tikka that I had bought from the beach bar - known for its hamburgers - and then poured myself a nice big cup of wine from my BYOB bottle! A nice Sicilian bottle, it was. Of chilled white! Although it didn't stay chilled long in this heat!
Started the day on the tranquilo beach side before heading over to the huts where music was playing and good life was living! A Scuba diving class was going on, jet skis were out in force, a kite was flying and people were just enjoying themselves! That's what's it's all about!
I do believe that as far as beaches go, Al Dar Island is my new favorite here in Bahrain, although I still love Reef Island for the convenience of getting there and getting in.
