haha I had never heard it until I met Joe's Dad and now it is a firm favourite in my vocabulary, although I often use a spicier word for poop. I like as rare as hens teeth, that's a good one.
Hello Joe & Emily, great posting and nice to hear it fire up, One quick mechanics tip, when pouring liquids if you invert the container for oil, petrol etc so that the spout is at the top rather than below, it lets the air in as you pour so you don't get the violent glug glug spill spill everywhere, but instead a smooth continuous more manageable flow, although it will need a slight twist if the container has a raised handle above the spout like the oil container you had, plus it's more cost effective and saves having to clear up any spillage afterwards, hope this helps.
Lovely to meet you guys this morning and looking forward to going through your videos when I get some free time. TA for the info aswell I've got a new mirror now. 😂
Fantastic work & effort you two! I'm sure it's fairly difficult to kick start a rebuilt motorcycle in those world famous slippers Emily! A great try but all because of Joe's twitchy eye didn't see the plug wire missing! The bike looks absolutely amazing & clean! Incredible inspiration you both are! Sorry I didn't catch this live as you know I'm in my 2nd dream! Can't wait to see this beautiful motorcycle back on the road!
Nice to see you in the comments Steve. You make an excellent point, lets blame the eye twitching for not seeing the missing cable. Bubba certainly is cleaning up nicely.
Enjoyed the video as usual. I spent a lot of the first eight minutes wincing and then "Phew"...then I started worrying and I think your public (well, me anyway) deserves to know... 1) did you have "musical differences"? 2) did you find it/them in the drain pan? 3) did you realise you were about to lose a stone &/or scratch something? I'm talking of course about the ring(s)... 🤣 All in jest ☕
Glad you were not wincing for the whole video. 1) We often have musical differences then Joe changes his tune back in line hehe 2) I did scoop too many things out of the drain pan - sensory overload with goop on my hands 3) I all of a sudden remembered someone from the Freddie build series telling me to take my rings off when working on the bikes. I find this one hard to remember, the only other reason I ever take them off is when I am baking. Thank you for the coffee it is really kind of you.
There is always a plan that we don't follow then a plan B that gets derailed leaving us winging it and floating through life 🤣 I was far too excited to give the bell its first official ring!
Great stuff . Nice to see ya working together . Great stream . I have one of these to get running and i am dreading that bloody kick start . At the age of 65 its not going to end well . Usually ends up with me suffering cramps at night after a day in the workshop trying to kick start an old bike lol.
What does that sign next to the window say? 🤔 It starts with, "I Don't Snore." But, I can't make out the rest. Deb says I snore, and I say I don't, I'd certainty like a better comeback when she says I do.
Kick starting an old British single is a dying art.. Good to see/hear you are using the decompressor to get over top dead centre. But you are making life too exciting for yourself. At the bottom of the kick stroke you do NOT have to jump off the lever and let it bang back up. Even if the engine fires, the ratchet on the kickstarter will prevent it kicking back when you get to the bottom of the stroke. So kick firmly and let it rest at the bottom of the stroke before allowing it to rise gently as you ease the pressure off your foot.. Experience from the 60's with 500 BSA and Veiocette singles.
Sounds like you have a lot of experience with this great advice. I'm afraid our experience of kick starting our BSA is that it bites back so we are wary of ALL kick starts now haha. Thank you for taking the time to commment.
Glad the lever was OK, best wishes Matthew H.
The Lever was perfect, thank you.
The rocking horse poop bit had me grinning. Love it. Here we might say, "rare as hens teeth." I'm definitely adding yours to my vocabulary.
haha I had never heard it until I met Joe's Dad and now it is a firm favourite in my vocabulary, although I often use a spicier word for poop. I like as rare as hens teeth, that's a good one.
Don’t forget to refill the oil tank after the timing chest has been refilled from oil draining down from the rockers lowering its level
Good call. Thanks for the tip.

Hi David, cheers for the tip. Will have to keep this in mind as there will definitely be a next time!
It’s nice to see that both our videos today featured hard starts!!!!
It's like we had spoken about it haha
Lovely to meet you guys this morning and looking forward to going through your videos when I get some free time.

I know that nervousness when kicking a good comprehension bike over, and I love that Emily is involved. Love watching your videos.
Thank you for commenting, we are pleased you are enjoying the content.
@@thewiltshirerider01 lt looks like Em has contracted 'nervous kick' syndrome.
What a lovely watch. Theres some compression there, reminds me of my old XT500 I used to have 😂kick it, it kicks you. Great to hear it running.
We are glad to not be the only ones kicked by bikes, they bite sometimes. Glad you enjoyed the video

There is always a plan that we don't follow then a plan B that gets derailed leaving us winging it and floating through life 🤣 I was far too excited to give the bell its first official ring!
Well done, you beautiful people 😍

Good work! Well done to you both. Great to hear it running. Are you at the Kempton event on the 18th January?
Thanks John, it was great to hear Bubba running. Sadly we are not at Kempton, we have to be boring adults waiting in for a furniture delivery.
Great job...great to see you connected the spark plug lead.
It was oddly essential
Yay 👏

We do manage to play nice together some of the time. Hope you manage to get yours started with minimal hassle.

I have buzz words now that will instantly create the eye twich haha Happy New Year, we will have to catch up soon.
Top work you two but would of thought Emily could have been credited with first start through editing
That would have been nice John I agree, Joe selfishly stole the lime light. Rude of him.
👏👏👏🙌
Certainly got some kick back😮 it's alive tho😊
Bubba is very much alive
The good old anti theft device - remove the HT lead. 🙂
That is good logic Colin
Looks like your bluetooth ignition system still needs further testing before its ready to go to market 🤣
It definitely does, this prototype pointed out a few issues

Spot on
@TheWurks ok, got it, that explains the tire tracks going into the loo.... 🤣
Little off topic but Is that a GN400 in the background or is it the 250 ?
It is indeed, holding it for a friend whilst they move house.
😂 happens when you're tired
