Thank you for the very useful information. I have passed the NCLEX and am ready to apply for CRNA. I have 10 years of nursing experience in Taiwan. I'd like to ask that how long does this process take for me to get my Alberta nursing license? I would like to know when I should enter Canada so I can start preparing to move. Thanks!
You will obtain RN title after passing NCLEX with CRNA. Once registered, either you can apply online or drop resume in person at available job opportunities.
It is one of the must-have requirements, but there are ways to get around this. Your choices will be limited, but we can certainly help you in this regard. Please contact us at 1-888-38-FBNPC (888-383-2672) or leave a detailed web inquiry at www.fbnpc.com
I am selected candidate for the AB pilot program in India. I received my temporary license from CRNA to work as a Graduate nurse in Alberta with the condition to pass the NCLEX exam. I am attending the exam next month. I had an interview last week and the outcome was that I was not selected for the position. i met all 90% of the requirements and got graduate RN licence in Alberta. The only requirement left was getting job offer from an employer why its happened like this
Hi Hancy Kiran, We are not really sure why you were not able to pass the job interview, may be the lack of conceptual understanding! Consider yourself lucky that you were invited for a nursing job interview while sitting abroad. It does not generally happen. But most Canadian employers do consider graduate/temporary licenses. As fas as immigration goes, it is a totally separate process to your licensure process. Most of the time, Canadian nursing licenses are only awareded to persons with valid immigration status. However, we can help with anything related to the NCLEX-RN or licensing process. Unfortunately, we can not provide leagl immigration related advice as it is beyond the scope of our practice. Hope it helps! Team FBNPC www.fbnpc.com
@@futurebuildingnursingprepc1346 That’s not true, you can totally have your license without immigration. I have my active license in Alberta but not currently in Canada. The problem is finding an employer willing to give you the job offer. Kindly research well before you put some comments out there
@albertaacheampong6473 Thank you for your input, and we are glad that your application had positive outcome. We are committed to client safety and success. We stand by our comment that there are many regulatory bodies in Canada that will not issue you a license to practice without valid immigration status in Canada. That being said, regulations are not static and continually reassessed and amended.
Hi Mam am an IEN, am living in Ontario I passed my Nclex Rn last week but I have more than three year gap. So if I want to transfer my license from Ontario to Alberta do I need compensatory hours which you mentioned in this vedio. Thank you
Yes, you can. If you are in Canada, then there are faster and more efficient regulatory bodies available. Hello ma’am, badly need your help and insight. I graduated BSN in 2010 but was not able to practice my nursing profession, I still currently hold a valid RN license in my home country and also had ECA and was given ATT by CRNA to write the NCLEX-RN. If I become RN in Alberta, will it still be difficult for me to land a job since I do not have any nurse experience in the past 5 years. Also I am currently an open work permit holder in CA. Thank you so much! 🙏🏻
hello i am also passed my Nclex USA in New Mexico BON. I am also planning to direct transfer my candidate report to Alberta. If I transferred it to alberta and get registered thereafter can i re-transfer it to USA ? Because I wanna work 2 years in canada and once my green card processed i wanna go back to USA. Please explain. Thanks
Yes, you should be able to. You can also look into the possibility of making your current license/registration with New Mexico BON as Non-practicing if they allow and once enrolled with CRNA. You should have the ability to switch between practicing & non-practing following NMBON's guidline. Hope it helps! Team FBNPC

Just ran across this.. I amin Alberta and work with international nurses. The journey is not that easy. You may get a license but no job. You also need be a fast learner as it is difficult for nurses who will rely on you to HELP. ANYONE can write a test. If you lack critical thinking you will not go far. There is a trial period and then you're on your own with or without work.
Hi Shirleydavis998, Thank you for your input and for sharing your personal experience. Alberta is not any different than other provinces, especially the bigger cities, where the population tends to be denser than the suburbs, hence the availability of jobs. However, if you keep your options and availability open, one can easily get into a nursing job. In terms of learning, on floor nursing is dynamic. Hence, the nurse must be proficient in clinical skills and critical thinking. But overall, it is a beautiful fulfilling profession.
Hai helpful video. I am preparing for my nclex. But i have not yet started nnas. After my exam i am planning to apply alberta. Whether i need to start nnas or not. Plz reply me.
When we apply, the eligibility comes usually within a 3-week time period. Your experience may vary based on how the processing was done. Once you pass NCLEX-RN and hold a license with CRNA, you can start applying jobs with hospitals and long-term care facilities. Hope it helps! Team FBNPC
@sukhdhaliwal2669 you do not need any documents to apply for jobs if you are already a nurse in Alberta. If you are not, then the first step is to apply to be a nurse in Alberta.
