Never use macro lens in product photography, my preffered lens in 24-70 f2.8 L by canon or something which covers 50mm to 85mm (portrait focal length).
100mm is a great lens, but the depth of field is too shallow for product photography, only use for closeup angles and creatives.
Most important factors are lighting, white backgrounds, reflectors, light angle (45 degrees) to cut shadows, distance between product and camera.
I personally use 70mm f14 1/160 iso 100, elincrom fx400ri flash strength between 4-4.5 depending upon product size and color.
Also, white acrylic sheet as background.
Mastering the reflector/cutter is important.
Keep sheets of thermacoal and a4,3 papers, i also cut hole in thermacoal to pass camera lens to cut the camera and tripod black reflections mostly in jewellery, watches, glass, sunglasses, etc.
Light tent/cube is also very handy.
Heavy sturdy tripod is a must, also, the height of camera and product from ground, the distance between product and camera should be noted down for 1st time to take constant shots forever, until changes are required.

@@Baljeet909 use for product photography? 35 mms is great wide angle lens. But it will convert to 56mm if you are using APS-c type of Crop factor camera, not full frame camera. So 35 mm lens is perfect on crop factor cameras. :)
