I agree that establishing the shape early is important to cutting down time, then moving through your fade system quickly with the intention of cleaning up imperfections at the end. I always start with the top, then move to the crown area to know exactly what I length I want to fade into. Setting that goal early helps me visualize how big the guidelines will need to be to achieve the desired shape/profile.

Absolutely man, the system is more important than people realize. It takes all the stress out of cutting hair, and allows you to focus more intently on what you want to do.

Hello, I been cutting friends/Family hair since high school but just recently started barber school. From early day videos they always fades up starting with Trimmer line. I just recently starting seeing people Fade down now which is confusing to me because i thought i had the fade down but now in school they want us to fade down. Any reason why barbers are fading down nowadays?

hey Kev bro can you go to barber school with a GED i'm 16 and i'm failing high school iv'e been trying to do the best iv'e can but its not going as i planned and now i'm in Florida with my grandmother and shes been a blessing to me shes helping me get ready for the GED when i'm 17 in October and iv'e been cutting hair since i was 14 in my bathroom, cutting my homies hair and cutting my own as well and i want to become a barber and go to night school and stuff to get ready for the GED do u need a high school diploma to get accepted to barber school or can you get accepted with a GED
Zion Wilson whats good Zion. I believe you’re fine bro. Im sure you can go to barber school with a GED. Ik you can here in Florida, but just to be sure I’d check with a barber school in your area, they’d have the updated requirements for your state of that matter.

I am a little doubt about my work. You see people come to me a couple of times then all of a sudden, go to my coworkers. One who is very good. I'm wondering, what is wrong with me? I've been cutting hair for 12 years and I do have a good following. It's frustrating when you think you did your best and see the client go to someone else.
