It's worth noting that you couldn't block during backdash if you weren't holding the back button during the animation (like if you wanted to do a db cancel and go to neutral for kbd) until tekken 7 causing it to be more spammable
Korean back dash is b, n, b, d/b, b, n, b, d/b etc So you were only vulnerable to mids during the d/b. Since you are crouching. The only time you let go off a direction is during the neutral. During the neutral you would be neutral guarding. Tekken 7 making you able to block from doing a back dash with b, n, b, n was useful if you do the ghetto back dash. The ghetto back dash is the reverse wavedash one.
@@youngdresbaby the regular back dash and player discovered korean back dash are constantly being touched in every games. In tekken 5 and tag 2 they were at their best. Tekken 5 in general was the pinnacle of movement. Yet again in tekken 8 they made back dashing very irrelevant as it sucks even when done well. That movement is important for players as its used to create space, force whiffs, reposition.
@rurounijay7100 thank you. I totally agree. This person I'm in a debate with is spouting some bullshit all because I had a gripe with a thing about the game, which was some movements. I appreciate the response.
Idk is it me or not but in T3 Tekken Ball, movement felt crazy buffed for me. 2,5 backdash is already enough to reach mid to corner and fast kbd covers more distance.
Honestly, removing jump in T4 was clever and should have stayed that way. I can tell you the only time I see someone neutral jumping is by mistake. It looks goofy
I honestly thought that was just me but the backdash did feel funny like I was a hunk of metal sluggish almost and it’s even worse on some other characters
If you followed T8 news and watched the Harada-Murray interviews you would know that it is common knowledge and very intentional on their part. Murray mentions it being due to his it affects rollback online and before that they straight out said they wanted more aggressive in-your-face play. Back in the days it was the players that complained which led to the movement in Tekken 4
yeah there's I believe only TAS can do it..I know how to do t7 tas but unfortunately I don't know how to use tas in old tekken games like tag 1 tekken 3 4 5 6 tag 2
was the Korean backdash always intentional or was it like an exploit and the devs have tried to combat it? I can barely do them but Iv always been a heavy Jack user. I sometimes use Lili too
That sh*t is frame perfect crouch back dash that can be categorized as bug. Impossible for human, you have to execute a set of movements multiple times in a span of under 20 frames.
back back down + back back back sa pechay dash krega or downback sa wo dash cancel ho jae gi isa bar bar repeat kro to ho jae gi practice laga gi thori si
That was not his point. Backdash in t7 covers more distance than t8. And when u backdash cancel in t7 u get more distance n more fluidity than t8. What u talking about is that the recovery frames of doing a single backdash has been buffed in t8 making it easier to create space faster by doing multiple backdash(not backdash cancel) than in t7. So the video is not wrong, u only misunderstood

Worth pointing out that multiple normal backdashes (bb>bb>bb) in t8 comes out faster than the older tekken games (at least compared to t7)
I see
Yeah its a diet korean backdash, not as good as the actual KBD but it gets the job done
A fun little fact is in Tekken 4 they didn't gimp Korean Backdash in the Tekken Force mode for some reason. But in the normal modes it was gimped.
There was a sidestep in T2. But only Kazuya can do it back then.
Baek could also side step with b3
Kaz, Baek and Michelle
@@carltasticdrew9633 roguer/alex too, but only doing first b4
3:58 ROFL, the Spasm Backdash 😆
3:58 kazuya tweaking💀
The jump from ps1 to ps2 STILL gets me
There seems to be specific backdash cancel timing for each character to get optimal(still nerfed) kbd in tekken 8 according to PhiDX
The rise and fall of the back dash. Wish we would have stuck to our roots but aye we dont get to choose what stays
:(
I'm not a tekken regular, but I dabble. Can you elaborate? I swear it got nerfed, but someone else is arguing with me that it wasn't.

It's a shame kbd is nerfed in t8, but I'm glad they buffed ss
Nerfed kbd but hugely buffed regular backdash, i think thats a fair trade

in every new tekken we got a nerf on backdash,in t9 we will have t4 backdashes again
haha
let's hope for the best
You forget that only Kazuya could do semi side step in Tekken 2
And Baek with b3

Ahh yes!!! TKN 1 an 2 when it were a 2.5D game! Damn! The memories🤣

i think evolution of movement is a better name for this video.

that's definitely north korean backdash xD

backdash in T 8 is faster now , look at the knees video . for KBDC every char has not same speed anymore

@@mwkan772 I saw a video on reddit comparing backdash and t8 normal bb covered more distance than it did in t7
