My favorite series of videos on TH-cam right now. I really admire your progress and determination to restore this villa, and I just can't imagine how it will look in the near future. Please keep up the great work! It's quite inspiring.
Thank you so much! it does really take a lot, but it's a 100% worth it. me neither, can't wait! I have got soooo many cool ideas for the future!! Thanks for your support!
As you are walking around the house working on the pipes, I have been seeing the floors. They are absolutely beautiful. A good cleaning and polishing later will make them shine. Can't wait to see them shine.😊😊😊
Those tiles are beautiful. They are called Cementine and are made of marble powder and sand. They are typical of late '800 and early '900. Be careful when you clean them. Use special products only!
I’ve been watching your videos for a few weeks now not in the right order but still enjoying them great progress with dad’s help, after seeing & hearing him play the water pipe maybe he should take up the Scottish bagpipes 😂😂
Wow just caught your stream, i cant imagine anyone letting that home just sit vacant. So glad your restoring it. Love the floors inside and the care your taking to clean up right after you've completed a section. Bravo, look forward to more. From seattle wa USA 💪💜🇺🇸💜
Papa sure comes in handy. You’re very lucky he can help out. He’s so knowledgeable about lots of things. Oh and try not to fall down the stairs again Sam. Best regards!
Keep the old lead and sell it to a scrap metal dealer. Lead is valuable because it is in high demand for church restorations ( think Notre Dame, for example) , fishing weights, car batteries, etc.
Doesn't really look like lead to me though, more like galvanised steel, which is close to worthless, at least small amounts like pipes. It's something like 100 Euros per tonne.
The distribution point you are talking about is called a manifold in English. Just found out myself last week😂. I'm putting a new water supply into my house too, in France.
We had to do this to our house. We replaced every single pipe and wire. It took a while but we have the satisfaction of safe water and safe electric. You just can’t trust an old homes plumbing and wiring.
Good evening Sam and Dad, you guys are just amazing what you have accomplished so far on this task,But I really can't wait to see all of you extremely hard work finally come reality and to see it all in place and working , keep up the amazing work the end is now in sight. 😃👌🌈🤞
WOW!!😁😁😁 WELL DONE!!!!💪🏼🙌🏻🎉🎇😎BRAVO!!!🌞🌞🌞FANTASTIC👏✨🌟🤘🤙🎆🏆🍾🥂🥇💯all the hard work you are putting into your Villa will ensure this Beauty will still be standing for generations ✨🌟✨🌟✨🌟You are AMAZING Thank You 💯🎆🎇
Knowing you are really careful about protective equipment....those bits and pieces of the old power cable that you found when getting the bent pipes out likely has asbestos in the wire covering. It would be unusual to find wiring of that age that did not. You certainly didn't expose yourself to a massive amount of asbestos, but you might keep that in mind as you find and dispose of old house wiring in the future.
Europe has certainly been more aggressive in banning asbestos products, but there was common use of asbestos across all countries prior to 80s & 90s. Definitely, possible that Europe did not adopt using asbestos in wiring, but still worth checking its use history in Italy. While asbestos was used for 100s of years, it became an insanely popular commercial product for its heat resistance early 1900s....Antique ironing board covers, heat insulating pads for example. It's in common items that we don't think about. Please note, not trying to say freak out about its use, just be mindful & take appropriate precautions.
@@cferguson3368 Asbestos was all over the place but wire insulation is the one place I wouldn't expect it, except in commercial lighting installs from the olden days. In one of those I did encounter some very suspicious cables back in the 90s. Fuse boxes lined with asbestos, asbestos pads behind surface mounted switches and sockets, absolutely. If you find anything light grey, fibrous and crumbly, get a P3 filter mask and spray everything down with water before you touch it. Then double-bag it and dispose properly.
Great job on removing the pipes; all without tearing out a wall or ceiling! I don't think you destroyed any floor tiles either did you? Well done! Have a great weekend!
U need the motion sencered lights to go on the walls going up and down stairs I've seen them in France people renovating Chateaus put them in stair wells!
You know, in some ways your villa is less well preserved than Herculanium and Pompeii-did you know they had actual plumbing pipes for some purposes? Painted or enameled blue! (Probably a rust preventive since they were in a fountain in an impluvium). Hard to believe that metal pipes were in use in 79 AD and presumably before.
@@ail-on3px I saw all the videos (don't remember having a plan) but it will be cool if we have some reminders in the general plan and the room inits you work
Definitely, I can imagine it's hard to follow along sometimes. I will try to either be more clear in the future on where we are or show you when I change floors or something. I will share the plans a bit later probably!
@@Villa_Oliva thxs for answered. I appreciate really a lot. I wait for plans, and wish you're warm in 1 room now. Courage, you will soon enter in the beautiful season....
hi, it seems to me that the water pressure at the entrance to your house is pretty decent, will you put a pressure regulator? and have you done any water analysis? to choose which filters to put on the input?
hahaha! honestly, I don't think it'll ever be done. But yeah, imagine. It'd probably find some other projects to keep me occupied I'm sure. One way to find out ;)

Sam and Dad, the two of you work so well together, It amazes me the two of you know how to do everything to restore your home.
I can’t wait till that villa is cleaned, decorated, and totally useable. It is a lovely place. You are doing a good job.
OMG, your dad has the cutest smile. Love watching you work together.
You and your dad make an excellent team! Well-done
You and your dad will look back at this job with pride.
It's great to see you rebuilding rather than demolishing .

Excellent work done so far!! There will be water throughout your villa soon.

Great to see new pipes going into the villa! Progress!

You are amazing, so much knowledge the two of you, and your dad what a great friend
Brilliant Idea! That will give you fantastic water pressure!

I know that you felt very good about achieving that project with your Dad! Congratulations to you both!
What a great dad you have.
Ya gotta love men with skills !!
Please can you do a tour of the river outside. Have you considered some sort of off grid power system powered by the river?
good idea, will do once we get to that. I have, it's one of the side quests :)
You two have so much patience! It'll be worth it to have everything done right.
Good progress, it is very complicated. You both understand what is required anyway.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You’re almost at 25,000 subscribers! I think I found you at your first episode!
That's amazing, so glad to have you around still!
Freut mich, dass es voran geht mit dem ersten Schritt in Richtung neue Wasserleitung.
So much fun to watch you two work together !
Nice tune by your dad, he must be a horn player!
Great job, you father is a funny guy😂
Great job Sam and Dad. Keep at it. It is coming along well. 🇨🇦
Looking at that fast moving water channel put a tubular turbine in there for power generation . It’s awesome.
Making progress. It's good to have your dad there to help you. One step forward helps you realize you're moving in the right direction.😊
I like how hard you are working together with your father for this villa project. I like to see your dream come true step by step.
You will need to power flush any pipes you are keeping, these things always take longer than you think, hang on in there x
One day that place will look awesome, you are getting there, bravo to papa ❤
Great progress
You can never install too many shutoff valves!
Wow you are doing so well. You are so patient doing this but it will all come together. Great job! 👏 👏

I don't think that was common in Europe. Natural rubber and cotton more likely.

Estou adorando cada momento da reforma, parabéns, estou adorando seu pai estar presente em cada etapa, família e tudo, seu casa já um lar.

Can you use the shaft from the doom water to run your water electrical and wast water?

The Villa Oliva emblem is quite unique and beautiful - who designed it?
Sam and his girlfriend 😊
Yeah, we did, thanks!

wie geht das sprichwort, fest fester ab!!!
Handsome ❤
Bankschroef zou handig zijn
I wonder why they have inches of pipes in Europe? Shouldn't it all me metric?
I'd prefer that as well, but that's the way it is
Hi Sam don’t understand why your walking down all those stairs with old pipe work just put it out the window just an idea
All the activities they do are very interesting, but I don't speak English. Could you enable the subtitles in Spanish, please?
thanks! For some reason sometimes they aren't enabled, I am sorry about that, I don't know why. I am trying to resolve it.
One day .... how will you occupy yourself when it's all done????
hahaha! honestly, I don't think it'll ever be done. But yeah, imagine. It'd probably find some other projects to keep me occupied I'm sure. One way to find out ;)
priem priem, schwer zu ertragen das video..
