One of James's best, and I always think of this story when I visit Aldeburgh (Seaburgh here). Prescient too, as this was written in 1925, and he refers to Raedwald, whose existence was well known, but whose grave was later discovered in Sutton Hoo in 1939.
What I enjoy most with James`s descriptives, and historical knowlege is that all he saw and described is in plain sight today. Thanks for commenting Zhouz.
