I agree I wish we condensed episode one more and then we’d have more time to dive into Rio and Agatha’s actual relationship and maybe give an explanation to who Nicky’s father was. But honestly such a great piece of television.

I'm glad you turned around on the show, I actually really enjoyed it throughout.
My only question at the end was just: did she kill those witches to become more powerful so she could save or resurrect her son or was it just a compulsion? Did it allow her to become immortal and that's why she did it?
I guess I'm wondering, if she's selfish in the sense of not wanting to let go of her child or was she selfish in that she didn't want to die herself?
I also didn't like the idea that her son wouldn't forgive her after 150 years. I think that's plenty of time. At some point you just learn to accept these things about your parents. You don't have to condone it, you can be repulsed by it, but you'll ultimately just learn to accept that part of them. I cannot overstate how much time 150 years would be

150 years is .. SO LONG.
I think she just wanted her powers back? So selfish reasons, at least at first, but then once the road became real her motives started to change I think. I think..?

@@Kubillus is it stated her son wouldn’t forgive her or just that’s her fear? We don’t know his feelings do we?

@@SpaceKrakenMedia it's true, we don't know how he feels and it's essentially what's keeping her bound to the earthly realm. And I don't know how you would remedy 150 years of witch-killing, but maybe that's what the second season will be about, so that she can move on and finally be free and happy. I just wish I had a little more clarity at the end, because her pursuit of power seemed to supercede her wish to spend time with her son and I find that curious...

I disagree in regards to the final minutes of the show. I don't think they pulled the whole "yeah, this character did a lot of bad things, but let's forget that because now they're a hero".
I mean, she literally died, she's a ghost now. She did get her punishment for her actions, and she embraced it. Her whole existence as a ghost is also tied to how she's aware of the bad things she has done, and how she can't face her son in the afterlife.
And throughout the show we saw many times how she has a soft spot for Billy as a sort of surrogate son. They didn't turn her into an actual hero, but it makes sense for her to be an ally/mentor to Billy.
And, maybe most important of all, her being a mentor for the MCU's future is simply fun. MCU is in desperate lack of characters like her: unabashedly fun, with a great actress to perform her. The MCU would lose too much if this were the last we saw of Hahn.
If I dare say it, her turn into a mentor figure is actually even more realistic than how Loki became a hero in his show.

      Oh no your 100%
I agree completely. I was mostly just joking about the comparison. This end felt very earned and well executed.
And yes I am super keen for more ghostatha , whether we get that anytime soon is anyone’s guess

I didn't get why the witches were always so eager/upset to attack her. I didn't htink they would be so punitive when Agatha is just ragging on them.
