Luka's visit to Abby while she was only halfway thru the rehab program could have spun her right back into drinking; she would have been quite fragile at that time, especially given Luka's one-sided decisions about major life changes and the fact that he controlled custody and access to their baby. Not giving her any positive encouragement or allowing her to set goals for their relationship once she was done with rehab might have shattered anyone who was not as strong as Abby. Luka walks a thin line here, and Abby has no safety net, no reason to believe in their marriage. Great writing.
I feel like Luka was written very out of character in this season (and yes, I know the reasons 😂). The Luka we knew and loved would never have left Abby and Joe for so long, and he would have come home when Abby begged him to. He also would have been more supportive. There are glimpses of the real Luka here and there (especially in “Coming Home”, “300 Patients” and “The Chicago Way”), but overall, I choose to believe he got hit in the head or something until he comes to his senses at the end of the season. 😆
I knew it, I knew it, one time or another this carelessness of Luka about Abby's drinking was gonna go wrong. And now he hurts her. Abby should have been with Carter after all!
@@melaniej.roberts206 if you were Abby, you should be alone?, don´t you deserve another opportunity to fix your world? to be happy after all the life put you throw?
I thought the writers did a great job with this storyline showing how alcoholism not only affects the person drinking but also they’re family. Luka was hurt big time by Abby’s drinking and by her cheating. I loved Luka in this, he loved Abby and wanted to help her but he also had to think about himself and his son. He wasn’t being selfish he loved Abby but right now he did not trust her he knew there were things she was not forth coming about. The scene with Regina showed his pain he was conflicted.
Melanie J. Roberts Oh please. 🙄 Abby didn’t destroy Carter by any freaking means. Carter was a big boy and screwed up plenty on his own. He never even loved Abby. He loved the idea of her. As for Luka, he knew he married an alcoholic. He loved her anyways. How did she “destroy” him? They started fresh with their son because that’s what you freaking do in a marriage when you care about each other. It’s called being an adult. The two of them went to the wall for each other over and over again. If Abby could forgive all of the crap that Luka did over the years, she deserved the same from him. Judgmental much?

Abby is a destructive mess. She destroyed Carter and Luka. She should be alone.
