Betty is a queen. In season 1 she is abused by her mother and has drama with Archie. She is bulled by students of Riverdale high. (Remember Cheryl's words at 2:02) In season 2 Jughead stop caring about her sometimes. Her own father is the Black Hood. He makes her get her friends off her life and he is threatering to kill them. Veronica doesn't act good against Betty. She lives in the same house with Chic who killed a human and then Betty and Alice cleaned it up. In season 3 her father followed her and wanted to kill her. Her mother sent her to the sisters of quiet mercy and Betty forcibly gets high in there. Her sister ultimate got crazy. She almost died because of lobotomy her best friend sent her to. Also she was poisoned by Penelope. She almost died for 3 times in a row! In season 4 she can't learn in her dream college because of her father, she has the serial killer genes and she's trying to kill her darkness from childhood but she can't. Jughead explores her family's story and doesn't even tell her about that. She's just a teen. All of the teens make mistakes. But Betty after all still forgives everyone and cares about people she loves.

In season 5, I want Betty to have a breaking point like maybe Polly dies or something where she goes full on dark and says instead of fighting her darkness shes gonna embrace it and starts dressing up like her mother did in the midnight club episode.
Her darkness isn’t some “cool” alter ego. It’s her severe trauma and mental illness. You wouldn’t want her to get worse but better. And thankfully it seems like she is going to get help and she is going to be happier.

Betty has been through so much and Jughead was there to support her through most of it, now 7 years later she is once again all alone and im so sick and tired seeing Betty struggle.
yes, you are right she deserves so much better. she is my favorite character. she does everything for everyone. she has literally saved everyone's life but when it comes to her everyone turn there heads, and she keeps suffering in silence and season 5 has proved that.
