First heard of Toby Nwigwe from a Harry Mack live session when someone asked him about him in a live chat. Said he hasn’t heard his stuff but heard that he “brings flows”. Now here he is. Unreal
I've been down with Tobe & Nell since when The Originals first dropped. That first Sway sesh, the hooks on the Originals, the Tiny Desk...I mean goddamn. There is no doubt that he is one of a kind, and I respect so much that he has been committed to bringing others up with him, in terms of producers, musicians (his band is one of the best in the biz), dancers, video producers, etc. The attention to detail and the work ethic have always been on another level. I also super respect that he has used his public persona as a way to stay accountable to his family and be a good example for others...
All that said...and I really hate to be negative, but I wish he was using his skills to talk about more important shit than he seems to these days. Does nobody else think it's weird to constantly talk about sex with your wife in front of her, your kids, and millions of strangers? I felt the same way with Jay Z and Beyonce... it just felt weird to me to be listening to people I respect (Mr. Reasonable Doubt and Ms. Say My Name) talk about smangin or complaining about not smangin or just talking relationship drama. To me that's like walking in on your parents smashin.
Fat even has bars, too. Dunno. Some people seem to think Nell splitting with the group last year might have something to do with the change, but who knows. I dug Chopped it Up w/ Farouk, but what he talks about most of the time these days just sits weird with me, and I think he and the whole crew have a lot of potential left to explore...

I have never left a comment on any of your videos but I make sure I subscribe and like every single one I watch because: (1) I think you are awesome at what you do. (2) when you break down Eminem songs you can explain it in great detail what the message in a song possibly could mean in a way no one else that does what you do can. (3) In your political ones even though at the beginning when you first started doing them we might have different point of views politically, BUT I respect people that can stand for what they believe in and have the ability to listen to the other person and come to an understanding to better each other, a great example of that is when you did your video where you spoke with Adam Calhoun about the song Racism. (4) you put talented new or just great rappers I haven’t heard about on the map and I think it’s awesome the impact you are having on people. (5) Back to the reason I’m messaging you for the first time is because the song balloons by Tom McDonald, literally pulled over on the road to go to TH-cam and write you this. I think you’ll actually like the chorus.…could be wrong 🤷🏼♂️, but would love to see you eventually do that song. Have a lot of respect for you, wish you the best in life, and I believe it’s people like you this country has a chance of uniting again.
