Worth good coin if you do sell. The nardi bits are worth good coin too if you sell. Real nice car either way, enjoy and happy driving!
I stumbled on the channel. Ive owned a couple of gx8 s. If you want sensible advise. Check your spare wheel fits over the brakes. If you want to drop a big end then turn up the boost. If you want to put a clutch in and blow second gear then drive it like it is a 200sx and your 18yrs old. If it stays around sti specs it will last. What separates gc8 is not just the mods its how clean it looks and overall condition. Looks like you got a great start

Love this! Would be awesome if the factory cassette player went back into it (you can always put a Bluetooth cassette in it) for the factory look. But I'm sure whatever you do to it will be good
@@MindieJ FYI some cars came optioned with a clarion package that includes a CD player, was available on basically all subarus of that era just in case you want something slightly more modern whilst staying OEM haha

Skirts and rear spats are plastic across the gc8 range, fog light covers should be plastic,, water sprayer should have a button for it next to the fog light switches, and I think the bonnet should be aluminium if it was an sti, other then that car looks pretty neat
what a dream, I own a 99 WRX but due to QLD P platers laws I cannot drive it until my opens which is in a year 😭I did apply for an exemption which was refused. But however I do also own a 97 Impreza which has UEL headers, only down side is, that it is an auto , NA and fwd.
@@MindieJ enjoy you’ll have a lot fun with that car👍 I remember when my mate purchased a 2000 GC8 brand new we use to cruise around thinking we were cool as😂 he’s still building and racing GC8s.

I ended up having to put the same box in my old gc8. Original one went to the moon. They changed the rear diff to match the ratio. Both out of a B4 liberty. After watching this, I miss my old one lol. Weapons of things they are.
Hi Mate, just wondering if that is a stronger box or just shorter gearing? Thanks in advance, mine has the original box but one day I will need to do it as well.
@@jasonlaker8723 from what I was told by the Subaru guys that did it, it was stronger than the stock one but not a silver bullet to fix weak gearboxes. That was in 2008 when I had that car. Definitely shorter gearing than the stock ones too. It had around 200kw atw so it definitely had some boogey
@@bentonedwards7056 Thanks mate, mine has the stock box and I drive it with a great deal of mechanical sympathy as she's got around 300hp at the wheels. Even with the softly softly approach its only a matter of time before I need a new box. Appreciate the feedback👍
The water sprayer isn't an Sti thing, it only came on the RAs and Type Rs. Your one looks like it missing the Sti guards, they are alluminium and should have a Sti badge on the lower part
I think you're way over thinking the whole 'people watching for the car' thing lol, most people watch for you and/or what you do to whatever car you might own at the time, I started watching when you had the XE and even though I'm not the biggest VN fan I watched practically every video because your videos are entertaining + I like what you do to whatever you own. Regardless, info dump for the WRX; STi bonnet (assuming same year) is aluminium, the rear STi seats I don't think are genuine as forester rear seats are completely different and as far as I know fully black GC seats don't exist. The pedal covers are genuine (or at least they're based on real ones); pre-GD/GG STis got those STi pedal covers (yes, they're covers, not actual pedal replacements) but the silver ones from WRX/STi GD/GG/GV/GRs etc that look much cleaner are a direct fit (including the dead pedal, can send the P/N if you're after them, still made new). As far as the box, I'm not sure what came in AUDM WRXs but if it *wasn't* a 4.44 front diff the rear diff would've been changed to suit as mismatched ratios = free centre diff delete. Overall car looks really clean, not the biggest fan of WRB despite being a subaru fan but it has a ton of cool OEM bits on it.
