A few years ago I'd walk the mall in the a.m. In my 40s, I was by far the youngest walker. These seniors were healthy and inspiring. They had built quite a community. I heard stories of how they looked out for each other. I didn't go consistently, yet I'd still get the occasional "Missed you yesterday!" shout-out from the other side as we passed each other. God Bless 'em.
How sad! I remember when this mall first opened to the hustle and bustle back in 1970’s. Is it just possible we could be witnessing the end of these once great shopping malls?
Could be. Hard to tell. Some malls went away a long time ago in the Portland area, and were converted to other things. This one is being converted to a few things, but there were some businesses inside that seemed like they were doing well, anyway, and may not have been going anywhere. Thanks for watching.
Happy to share. I'd visited the place before this expecting a dead mall, and was surprised that it was busy during a previous recording session. When I heard the place was closing, though, I just had to go and see it off.
so sorry bout the loss it sure looks like a very nice mall in deed !! but I could not keep my mind wondering off into this my thoughts of seeing all them lights suddenly going out and for some strange reason in mind seeing a pack of blood thirsty zombies surprisingly coming at you from round one them corners ! lol and but of course its not as if all in my own imagination here being the overall cause as though it was you who picked that creepy scary music !!!!!! much thank owed as to you my friend like thanks a lot as now there will be so very little sleep for me tonight lol 😂 great video !!!! cheers from Canada !!!!👍
Greyhound Bus should open up it's Portland terminal at the Lloyd Center, i think that will bring in a steady stream of customers. ... that or make it a sort of 'unified bus terminal' that includes Bolt Bus.
Never did get to go there, drove past it many times and always wondered about it. My mother's friend lived near it, and her home was hit by drive by shootings, killing her son, so I figured the area was not a good one to be around in the first place.
I live near a city that has "hey, lets shoot up that house". Disregarding that the family has small children. Recent one actually hit the mattress a 6 year old was sleeping in. I just don't understand why?..Mall fights kill a mall real quick. Seems like a bunch of teens get together and fight in the mall. Crazy.
I've heard the Lloyd Center Mall has been dead for a decade. However theres still 6 or 7 stores in it. Funny how the people who say its dead are the ones who haven't been there in years.
I think the mall is going to stay open for people who want to go to the DMV not sure just no interior other than the DMV they could just leave the one interests the Southwest but I could also see them leaving The North Door open because I don't think the few dozen DMV people would be a problem they basically only had two other tenants the magic shop and a luggage kiosk so the door from the gym is locked I believe the 24-hour fitness gym going to stay maybe they are going to brick up the wall since they've decided to redevelop the mall
Dude, I'm just waiting for a freaking Zombie to pop out from somewhere and attack. That place looks like a location scene from The Walking Dead. Spooky.
we thought very much so alike as I just posted a similar comment and here I am as now reading you're own version lol well said !!!! lol please read mine ok ?? thank you 🤣
There are plenty of malls that are still doing fine -- and a few around here that are actually expanding. Many of these malls die because a bigger and/or better mall is built nearby.
I was there that day I thought about riding my bicycle inside the mall I did not I entered the same entrance I headed east instead of West I have accessed the roof in the day talked about where that was in the mall the roof access 40 years ago was approximately where the Home Depot starts and there was an access door on the second floor of what used to be Montgomery Wards now Target
New stores are coming. How is that communism ? Tell me why those who own the mall can't make any changes to their property without your OK? That sounds sort of like fascism to me
dude, shut your mouth. some of us like "slow and boring". move on to something like Foxnews if you dont like it here. you're not welcome here, move on.

Thanks for uploading. Great work.
It's not the empty mall but the music that's adding eeriness.
wow this is sad. This was my stopping ground back in 2002. Thanks for sharing

I haven't been there since the late 90's and it seemed it wasn't doing that great back then.
This mall feels really small

I remember going there in the summer of 1990 when i was 14 years old. It was a very bustling place then.
Used to live in Eugene and I remember that mall being so alive and busy in the 90s. I am in WA State now...just North. Can't believe its closing.
I miss the 90's when all the malls were packed.
Looks like eureka California

Malls will come back someday. Society today is backwards and confused.
There are plenty of malls that are still doing fine -- and a few around here that are actually expanding.

Hey I'm subscription number 190! Yeah how about urban legends...
Or subscriber summited stories...
If I ever end up with over give hundred subscribers, submitted stories might be a good idea.
What exactly, is insulting about Hobby Lobby?
My thoughts as well.
Hobby Lobby fucking sucks.
You need to do your research. Perhaps you are ok with people stealing priceless artifacts from the Holy Land but many are not.
Owned and operated by fundamentalist religious zealots.
Sad... ,what has come to America....
Wow!
Liberalism...feel good theology
Unfortunately we're about to reap the "benefits" of Socialism/Communism... Aka suffering.
New stores are coming. How is that communism ? Tell me why those who own the mall can't make any changes to their property without your OK? That sounds sort of like fascism to me
Why the hell is Hobby Lobby insulting?
You noticed that too! I'd like know as well.
it's code for bukkake groups
welcome to the middle class
Put the homeless in the place
Slow and boring. We get the point. Move on to something interesting.
