This song is so powerful especially with the girl singing. I just wish they'd perform this song without all the showing off of vocal skills with so many riffs, runs, etc. It's too much. They do it in every single version of this song they've recorded and this is why the views don't grow. It totally dilutes the fullness of the message and therefore the power of the track because it makes us focus on the vocals instead of the song (and this is why you see the comments being about the singers' skills and not about Jesus). This makes us worship the people singing it instead of God. Other than that, the keyboard is doing some whacky off-pitch stuff here and there. Just sounds off.
That's not entirely true. The riffs and runs are just as much as part of storytelling in music. They have the same ability of adding texture and reinforcing the message. It is evidence of God's divine creativity in each of us. Now I get that yeah some folks do too much, but I don't feel this was the case.Also I didn't even focus on the runs until I saw your comment. Your comment drew attention to it.
That’s how they worship. We should want to bring God our best! He blessed them with this amazing talent - so they’re bringing Him their best when worshipping Him. We are blessed by their worship but it’s not for us, it’s for God. 🙌🏻
