      There are other pollinaters beside bees, so no, we will not all die when the bees die. In China there are basically no bees anymore and they still have enough to eat. Stop believing everything you read on the internet.

    I've been watching a lot of these videos recently and always wonder why they don't show it off live afterwards for a good few mins.
    Videos just show the set-up and then the completed and the vid ends, I wanna see the fishies enjoying it and such =P
    Like show off the work you put into it rather than just ending the vid.

    Lots of questions!
    1. What is the soil called and where can you get it?
    2. Can you purchase the plants from pet stores or online?
    3. Could or would you use Spring Water?
    4. Do you have a website that would have the answers to these questions?

    • @Corvus_Crow
      @Corvus_Crow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Theresa Marie you can find a large variety of aquatic plants at your local pet store. petsmart is my go to. if you are doing a low tech method, tap water should be fine. just be sure to not add any livestock until your plants have adjusted and have gone through a cycle. 6-8 weeks. lots of science involved so the more research , the more successful your aquascape will be!

    • @Corvus_Crow
      @Corvus_Crow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Theresa Marie the soil is called the substrate, many different types of substrate, gravel , sand , soil...all of which you can find at your pet stores

      no pump for oxygen, just good surface movement from the filter output. this will provide plenty of oxygen along with the oxygen produced by the plants

      Hi Gusda Costello. thank you for the kind words.
      you are correct there are very few fish in this setup. these were a few psudomugils I was temporarily re-homing from a smaller setup I'd shut down. bigger shoals of small fish would be my ideal choice!

    Nice driftwood. Due to the small tank size, I think the foreground and mid-ground (left) plants are oversized. Rocks are positioned a little bit of unnatural and too thick. I know when you looked at them, they were fine. But when they were on video, they looked oversized.

      Hi +Sabrina Parsons
      The plants used in this layout should still grow well in colder water, although growth rates would be slower as temperature is a limiting factor of photosynthesis. Cooler water = slower growth. Not always a bad thing though! :-)

    Is it normal tap water? Or sea water? Should the aquarium be placed in a well illuminated (natural sunlight)? Or diffused sunlight? Won't some of the plants begin to float even if we try to firmly place them in place? Any water filter requured like we use in fish tanks? Please share some basic info in the description box.

      hi FaLLenStormyGod.
      as far as I am aware the turtles would eat the plants but there are many species of fish that are well suited to heavily planted aquariums like this one. my personal preference is a large shoal of a single species of small fish, as this is more aesthetically pleasing and will bring out more natural behaviour of livestock. they shouldn't affect the maintenance routine other than having to be careful not to suck them up the siphon tube :-)
      Happy new year

      and can i ask is a co2 is just like an air pump when you plug it in,it will do whats suppose to do bec im thinking that co2 have a little canister that you always replace, ive never seen a co2 for tank before so i really dont know to maintain them, it might be expensive

      The CO2 kits usually used for aquascaping utilise a pressurised canister of CO2 so it would need replacing every so often. How often it needs replacing Depends mostly on the size of the aquarium but You can usually get a few months use from a 2kg canister on a medium sized aquascape.
      We have an article on using CO2 in the aquarium which might be of some use to you ( aquaddictionuk.net/2015/09/aquariumco2101/ )
      We also have a planted aquarium support group on Facebook if you ever have any questions. You can find us by searching for "Aquaddiction UK - Planted Aquarium Support Group"

      watch lots and lots of aquascaping vids pal. I've just started only 5 weeks ago . Already upgraded to an aquascaper 1500 ( 450 ltr). all my wood is sorted (redmoor roots of ebay) . I used elephant stone for the rocks, others are available. now im looking at the plants. To me thats the hard part. look for George Farmer on you tube . he has helped me loads . he shows you the basics and helps name plants etc.
      also visit aquarium gardens on google. based in Huntingdon. they will help with any of your purchase requirments. great guys who run it. they have everything you need. From every rock you can get to wood to plants , co2, lilly pipes ( glassware) for inlet and outlet. have fun with it :) any questions ask .. even though im a noob, i can point you in the right direction for answers.
      George has live aquascaping vids on sunday nights.
      search for aquascaper 1500 and you will find George on most of them.
