Beautiful job with the aquascape - I love the dragonstone look, lying down like that. Seiryu stone? Excellent plant placement too. Well done and great vid!

@@Gk22632 good thanks. Went a bit more heavily planted than planned. Bought too many plants but having paid for them I planted them. And up and running with some happy fish.
@@andypne5454 the same thing happened to me, but I loved the over grown look, it also really helped cycle my tank faster and control the ammonia and nitrate
There are other pollinaters beside bees, so no, we will not all die when the bees die. In China there are basically no bees anymore and they still have enough to eat. Stop believing everything you read on the internet.
I. Am. In. Love! I'm planning on updating a 2.5 gal tank with one live plant to a 5.5 gal with many for a more home like atmosphere for my beta. This video definitely helped answer some questions I had. Beautiful!
Hello random person looking at the comments 😊 That is amazing! This is my goal for my aquarium to look very natural... right now I have a better fish in a three gallon but I hope to update the setup to make a nano tank!

I've been watching a lot of these videos recently and always wonder why they don't show it off live afterwards for a good few mins. Videos just show the set-up and then the completed and the vid ends, I wanna see the fishies enjoying it and such =P Like show off the work you put into it rather than just ending the vid.
Lots of questions! 1. What is the soil called and where can you get it? 2. Can you purchase the plants from pet stores or online? 3. Could or would you use Spring Water? 4. Do you have a website that would have the answers to these questions?
Theresa Marie you can find a large variety of aquatic plants at your local pet store. petsmart is my go to. if you are doing a low tech method, tap water should be fine. just be sure to not add any livestock until your plants have adjusted and have gone through a cycle. 6-8 weeks. lots of science involved so the more research , the more successful your aquascape will be!
very nice scape and set up. would love to see a follow up vid/update if you still have this tank going. feel free to check my tank and planted tank tips vid out as well if you can. cheers!
hi Rohit Jaiswal no pump for oxygen, just good surface movement from the filter output. this will provide plenty of oxygen along with the oxygen produced by the plants
Hi Gusda Costello. thank you for the kind words. you are correct there are very few fish in this setup. these were a few psudomugils I was temporarily re-homing from a smaller setup I'd shut down. bigger shoals of small fish would be my ideal choice! Happy new year Dan Aquaddiction UK
I love this design, only thing that I would like to know is whether or not these plants would do well in a coldwater tank, I haven't used any of these plants before (other than the moss) so I have no knowledge on them? Please advise me, thank you! Also, what are the dimensions of this tank? Beautiful design by the way!
Hi +Sabrina Parsons The plants used in this layout should still grow well in colder water, although growth rates would be slower as temperature is a limiting factor of photosynthesis. Cooler water = slower growth. Not always a bad thing though! :-) Regards Dan Aquaddiction UK
Ruben Uidam My maintenance routine includes weekly 50% water changes, daily dosing of fertiliser and weekly trimming of plants. Other than that it is relatively easy to maintain Regards Dan
Is it normal tap water? Or sea water? Should the aquarium be placed in a well illuminated (natural sunlight)? Or diffused sunlight? Won't some of the plants begin to float even if we try to firmly place them in place? Any water filter requured like we use in fish tanks? Please share some basic info in the description box.
Hi +Ashish Jena This aquascape is running a pressurised CO2 system at roughly 30ppm for optimum plant growth. The fertilisers are dry salts from a company here in the UK (aquarium plant food), mixed into my own solution and dosed daily Regards Dan Aquaddiction UK
I noticed you put Ranalisma in your background, but on your 30 day progress it looks like it switched to a grassy type plant. Can you advise what the final background grass is?
I wish you would of shown more of the wood, did you place it upside down ? I have a peice of spiderwood and it looks very similar if I turn it upside down ,so I'm curious if that's what you did?
I'm about to upgrade my setup with the Amazonia substrate, I already have a cycled 5x2x2 tank with over 200 fish... if I do a complete revamp on my tank, will it be safe to put my fish back in straight away or should I wait??any advice would be helpful
hi Anthony NYTMAR from my experience, ADA soil substrates tend to release quite a bit of ammonia at the start so my advice would be to treat it like a new setup. this would involve temporarily re-housing the livestock until the substrate is cycled then slowly re-introducing livestock once ammonia and nitrite both drop to 0ppm. if you can keep the bacteria in the filter media alive whilst rescaping and carry out lots of large water changes (every day or 2) then this will help speed up the process. Regards Dan Aquaddiction UK

Don't worry when humans eventually die off the Earth will heal itself and the reefs will be back to normal.
We'll die off when all the bees die.

Akshay Surendran I think it's gravel
Akshay Surendran it's your typical backyard garden soil
No... It's a garden soil, enrich with natural fertilizer...
I think it'n not just a normal soil, cause when he put it in it's powdery
