plus 2 timeouts! I'm really surprised by their take here. If you feel panicked that you have risk a 4th and SIX with that much time left, then you'd definitely be screwed if the Chargers get the ball at midfield and go up another score while burning even more clock, and now you're down 2 scores. And you have to assume given the situation, the Chargers would go for it if they got to a 4th down in order to go for a TD rather than settling for a FG, so you'd be down 10.
Both Chargers and Broncos defenses were TIED for Lowest Points Allowed… Broncos were slightly better in denying yardage OVERALL and Rushing, while the Chargers are better against the PASS… Payton was simple out Coached by Harbaugh… 🤔
Man I can’t wait to see the broncos add more weapons this offseason. A lot people are talking about Sean but his is a great coach. The future is bright in Denver.. DB4L!!!
Florio and this other guy are mistaken by the reference A.Michaels made. The chargers were getting 18 pts in that SB vs SF and lost by 23 and DID NOT COVER THE SPREAD!!
Yeah and he went for it and didn't get it then you be talking about how dumb it was to go for it. Denver had plenty of time to get ball back but they didn't.
Well I mean he didn’t predict his top 5 defense to give up a 3rd and long if that’s a stop he gets the ball back with a chance to win/tie and he has all the 4 downs every time
Payton was calling plays for Nix that were designed to keep the ball out of the Chargers hands, not move the Broncos down the field, Babysitting Nix was necessary his confidence was shot after the last two games. No way was he going for it on 4th and 6 with time on the clock, and Nix wobbly in the pass game.
While it was the wrong decision it’s pretty obvious why he did it. All season their defense has been their strength and when push comes to shove he doesn’t trust Bo Nix.
Bottom line; HARBAUGH out Coached Payton. That uncontested Field Goal was simply evidence of that… Last season, Payton was out Coached by Belichick, in a game the BRONCOS should have won in OT, and he should have played Russell Wilson the final TWO games, in which they had better odds of winning the last game against the Raiders. Those TWO games, if WON put them into the Playoffs at 10-6… Winning at least ONE would have produced a winning season at 9-8… The Broncos in 2023 had a FIVE game WIN streak that mainly included Playoff bound teams… 🤔
Talking heads are so dumb sometimes. Man mike tomlins a great coach cuz he gets it done with russ. Sean payton is not a bad coach for failing with russ
Analytics blah blah blah 🥱 with 5 minutes left you expect your defense to be able to hold there and not give up a freaking 90 yard drive. Hindsight criticism is lame AF
@ it was the right call to punt it’s just there defense was just terrible and didn’t get a stop but there talking like Sean Payton just a bad coach and don’t know what he doing
@@Saintsfan.No. They were saying Sean should have taken a chance there, since time was a major factor, and he probably wasn't getting another chance. That's all. He obviously a fine coach. Just lost his nerve at the wrong time. Didn't have enough faith in Bo Nix to risk it. If it was Drew Brees, he would have gone for it. You're a Saints fan, so Sean can do no wrong. Harbaugh outcoached him last night!

Down 3, 4:35 left, on your own 49, with one of the best defences in the NFL, you punt.

@rustyfrost7817 The Chargers are not a great offence.

@Superz3ro What point are you making? No one's saying anything about the Chargers defence.
It’s funny that Michael mentioned that his wife was “tuning him out” because that’s precisely what Florio does the second he stops talking
Justin Herbert balled out though, you gotta give that man is props, he made some big time p,has in that second half.

This situation isn't the crux of the game. Blowing critical 3 an outs because of penalties over and over is where the Broncos melted down.
Penalties and play-calling doomed the Donkeys. They were up by 11 twice and couldn't hang with LA.

Sean Payton is Mike McMcarthy with better PR.
I will never forgive Sean Payton for how he treated Russell Wilson!
Talking heads are so dumb sometimes. Man mike tomlins a great coach cuz he gets it done with russ. Sean payton is not a bad coach for failing with russ
Oh please. This is the nfl. Russ is still taking terrible sacks. Everyone moved on. You should too.
Russ stinks
I'll never forgive him for bounty gate, but same
And he will never know of your existence so it doesn't matter
This isn’t the first time Payton has choked in the 4th quarter of a game
He paid Wilson to get out of his locker room. Says more about Wilson
Analytics blah blah blah 🥱 with 5 minutes left you expect your defense to be able to hold there and not give up a freaking 90 yard drive. Hindsight criticism is lame AF
These 2 guys don’t know football, Sean Payton got the broncos to a winning season and Broncos haven’t had a winning season since 2016 😂 lol
Whats that have to do with going for it on 4th down?

@Saintsfan. nah it wasn't the right call to punt in that situation. Defense hadn't stopped them all half.
