My name is Ewan Cunningham, I'm from Falkirk, Scotland. I'm an 19 year old, self taught musician. I started playing drums at the age of 4 and I'm now a multi-instrumentalist playing drums, guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals. I've been teaching myself to mix, record, film, edit and produce music since I was 10 years old and this is my passion.
This is a drum cover of "Rock And Roll" by Led Zeppelin from their 1971 album "Led Zeppelin IV".
There is no workout quite like the John Bonham workout. I don't often play Zeppelin songs on the drums and in fact this was only my third take at ever playing this song. Every time I play a Led Zeppelin song I realize how good John Bonham was.
This cover first got taken down so I had to edit in a slightly different version of the song hence why the drums might go out of time ever so slightly.
This video was shot in 4K with a GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition and Panasonic Lumix G7.

Jason Bonham said this was one of the most difficult songs he covered when he played with Page and Plant. His dad said the drum groove came from and old Little Richard tune.

Though he didn't do the ghost notes on the snare during the groove (verse) part of the song like Bonham did. The end was pretty spot on too.

Hi Ewan. I am sitting here at 6:40 am just wandering around youtube and came across these drum covers. I am a drummer as well and even though this is a fairly straight forward type of song to play, and I've seen some other comments referring to this as well... your timing is spot on my friend and some else mentioned that you make it look effortless. I love this song and this was the best cover cover I have heard..I cant explain it but this cover just sounded right on point...The others sounded familiar but something seemed to be missing..Great job.

Bonham kept 8th note ghost notes throughout the entire song with the left hand. It's all about that "Bonham power shuffle" with this tune. Work on that left hand endurance and you'll have it! 🙂
