No Hobi wasn't going to be a vocalist...
He auditioned as dancer for a hip pop group.. Vocalist were added to the group when bang pd changed the project to idol group, he joined the group before that.
Jhope explained that when he joined the group he was always surrounded by rappers who always start freestyle rapping at random occasion so he started to join too and that's how he started to take interest in rap/hip hop music. Then he also started to take part in writing and composing too.
It's just groundless rumours that jhope was meant to be a vocalist or V was going to be a rapper.
As for Magic shop; JK produced this song and the idea of the song is inspired by RM's speech at the wings tour . They (RM and JK) both then worked together to make this beautiful song for ARMY ⟬⟭💜

It's actually not true that Hobi was supposed to be in the vocal line. He's always been positioned as a rapper and a dancer even before BTS. Him, Suga and RM were members of *"BANGTAN"* in 2010 together with i11evn, HunChul, and Hyosang/Kidoh which is a Hip Hop group.

8:32 I think BTS and Bighit try to give everyone chances to shine, so it is unclear for many people, but the positions show more what BTS does in the background, who is responsible for what part of work and who contributes the most to which line of work. For example, JK is the main vocalist and sings many of their guides and contributes the most to harmonies, ad-libs and so on. You can hear his voice so many times throughout the whole song in the background. He is credited in nearly every BTS songs in the official credits for the chorus or background vocals. Or J-Hope as the dance leader, who helps with choreographies and helps teaching the members the most. We get to know this by watching their backstage footage and when BTS talk about it. We wouldn‘t notice it in their MVs or songs as much.
This is a masterpiece by JK. Produced & written by him. He was still very young when he wrote the lyrics for this song. It's a beautiful, meaningful song for Army. The composition is also amazing. Yes all are incredible Musicians. But sure there is a reason for them to pick JK as their main Vocalist. He can sing, rap, dance, write lyrics, compose, produce, good in everything, an all round, a master of it all. He works hard to keep up to the title Main Vocalist & the Golden Maknae. They love and support eachother to the hilt till they all are perfect, they don't let go. That's what makes them who they are. People should learn how to be a family & team from BTS. I love Magic Shop, thank you JK for writing and producing such a wonderful masterpiece. 🙏 Of course to RM too, since JK was inspired by one quote of RM for Magic Shop and RM helped writing the lyrics. Same goes for J-Hope and Suga because they wrote their rap parts. JK said in BTS‘s press conference: “Magic Shop is a song I wrote for our fans. It's a fansong so instead of feeling like I was working on a song, I put in my thoughts and love for the fans in the song. At the concert, RM said to our fans that if you recognized us and found us, then you can do it. I used that as the basis & that's how the song started. When you want to run away from reality & you're exhausted, if you open up your heart, there's a Magic Shop where inside, there's the 7 of us waiting to give our fans strength. I hope many can get strength & feel better." It is such a beautiful message. When I feel down, I listen to Magic Shop and it always lifts my mood.

Jhope is the Golden Hyung and debuted as Main Dancer, Rapper , Sub Vocalist and only rapper who is, but he is also the Dance Leader. I think bts as a whole are all , all rounders to some extent…. But jungkook and Jhope are just on another level in these major assets of their music and performances.
Everyone is multitalented and all have tons of areas where they shine and stand out…. But something I think that’s different about the others as opposed to these two is that everyone else for the most part… grew along their journeys to be the top tier in all the aspects that they are passionate about and have to do with bts… but jungkook and Jhope was all these things right from debut… they’ve both just continued to grow also and just refined their insane abilities and are extremely driven perfectionists … but being good at all these things from the start while others improved along the way and there’s nothing wrong with that and you would never know now but in the older stuff it was more apparent especially live… but now you would never know… and that’s a testament to the drive and hard work every single member has put in and together built each other up, supported each other, leaned on each other and went to bat for each other…. The best of BTS….. is just BTS…. Bc who they all are… are things they’ve learned from or with each other… it’s what makes them so special….. their bond is authentic…. They’re family

I really wish there was BTS when I was a kid , teenager and even into my thirties I was a very depressed individual, hiding behind a smile and my sense of humor to hide my pain. I did listen to lots of music that saved me but there wasn't really a band out there that spoke to young individuals hardships ,and telling us you are okay just the way you are. Now I'm 50 and found BTS songs like these still give me hope and encouragement. I live with depression but now I dont suffer from it, I've learned its okay to not be okay but still love yourself. So I thing songs like this will definitely help our youth and young adults a lot , because I feel they have way more pressures on them then I ever did. Anyway I know it was long post but its a special song. Thanks for the reaction .

I was trying not to cry while watching you react to this song. This song was my 'aha' moment, that i wanted to be ARMY and support this guy, I found bts during one of my hardest times, this song comforted me. When i first watch their live performance of this song with lyrics on, I sobbed so hard. I was crying the whole day, its that moment i felt so comforted, i was happy, i was emotional bcs i've never seen anyone ever had this much sincerity poured in their music and lyrics. I already explored BTS for abt a month, know who they are and whats their purpose of making music. This song made me army. They made us fighting for ourselves. when they said "You gave me the best of me. so you'll give you the best of you. You found me. You recognized me." is one of the most special lines. Reminded me when someone said "I know why you love bts so much. because they make you fight for you".

And Jungkook also wrote the song. He's called the main vocalist because he can replace anyone in BTS even in the rap line if necessary, he knows all the lyrics. Even with hard choreos his voice is the most stable, he's the best at doing ad-libs.
He's responsible of most of the background vocals in BTS songs as well as the chorus and harmonies with the other members.
He does the vocal guide for every BTS song, including the solo projects. That is, he does the initial track so the other members can use it to record their own parts later. RM once said BTS wouldn't exist without Jungkook.

This song is so incredibly meaningful to me. BTS is telling ARMY to be themselves, love themselves, that they are accepted and valued for being exactly who they are, that they don't need to pretend and don't need to be scared, that you are valued here. This song is a huge, grateful and accepting hug to everyone who listens to it.

This is actually my 2nd favorite song after Fake Love. This was a song for Armies to cheer up and bring out the best in themselves. If they could give BTS the world. Then they could do the same for themselves with BTS by their side. Its a beautiful song for those Armies in depression and not in the best mental state.

This song... omg this song. I grew up in England and a cup of tea is such a comfort thing for me. I've lived outside of the UK now for 15+ years and I still sit with a cup whenever the day has particularly damaged my calm. The first time I ever heard this song I''d had a really sh*!ty day. This song came up in a playlist and I legit, no word of lie, broke into tears when they told me they'd be waiting with a cup of tea behind our special door to watch the stars. I've never been able to get through this song without going misty-eyed. My dream is to hear this live in person. I hope one day to achieve it. And one day to pay back the level of comfort they gave me on one random Wednesday night.

Magic Shop is a psychological technique in which you have a door in your mind to go to a safe place. j-hope can literally do everything. its well known with army that j-hope is the perfect all rounder.. rap, dance, sing, songwriter, composer, producer, dance leader, and overall mood setter.
